Ashraf F. Hanna

Dr. Ashraf Hanna is a board certified Anesthesiologist and pain management doctor practicing in Clearwater, Florida. He is a graduate of Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt. He completed his Anesthesiology residency at Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago, where he spent six months of advanced clinical training in pain management. Dr. Hanna has also completed a Pain Management Fellowship at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. Dr. Hanna had served as President for the Florida Academy of Pain Medicine. He is also a member of several professional organizations such as the American Society of Anesthesiology, Florida Academy of Pain Management, American Society of Interventional Pain Management, and American Society of Regional Anesthesia. Francisco M. Torres

Dr. Francisco Torres was born in Seville, Spain and graduated Cum Laude from the University of Puerto Rico in 1982 with a degree in Biology. He then attended the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine and was awarded his medical degree in 1986. Dr. Torres performed his residency in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at the Veterans Administration Hospital in San Juan, Puerto Rico before completing a Musculoskeletal Fellowship at Louisiana State University Medical Center in New Orleans. He went on to serve three years as Clinical Instructor of Medicine and Assistant Professor at LSU before joining Florida Spine Institute in 1993. Dr. Torres specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with spine related pain symptoms and osteoarthritis of multiple joints. He is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, as well as the Pinellas Medical Society. He is also a fellow of the American Association of Electrodiagnostic Medicine and a member of the International Spinal Injection Society. He has been certified by the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine and the American Board of Pain Medicine. He has served as Vice President of the Florida Academy of Pain Management and has participated in several clinical research studies. Dr. Torres was also the principal investigator studying the use of Botulinum Toxin A as a treatment for chronic lower back pain. He has authored and co-authored several articles published in various medical journals, including the American Journal of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. He was presented at several medical conferences in Florida, Louisiana, and South Carolina on topics related to his practice and research. Dr. Torres is primarily interested in preventative medicine, but it is never too late from his perspective to get well. He works will all of his patients to promote overall wellness - primarily through targeted exercise and nutrition. Kenneth P. Botwin

Dr. Kenneth Botwin is a graduate of Tulane University and the Sackler School of Medicine, Tel Aviv University. He completed his Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation residency at Boston University Hospital in Massachusetts. He has worked as a Physiatrist, Interventional Spine and Pain Physician at the Florida Spine Institute. Dr. Botwin is board certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, the American Board of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine, and the American Board of Medical Specialties in Pain Management. Dr Botwin is a Certified Physician Life Care Planner (CPLCP) thru the American Academy of Physician Life Care Planners and a Certified Life Care Planner (CLCP) thru the International Commission on Health Care Certification. Dr. Botwin is a member of several professional organizations including the American Academy of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (AAPMR),International Pain & Spine Interventional Society, American Society Interventional Pain Physicians (ASIPP), Florida Society Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (FSPMR), Florida Society of Interventional Physicians(FISIPP), and the Florida Academy of Pain Medicine(FAPM), International Commission on Health Care Certification, Academy of Physician Life Care Planners, and the International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals. Luis G. Figueroa

Dr. Figueroa was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and earned his medical degree from Pontifical University - Javeriana School of Medicine in Bogota, Colombia. He completed his neurology residency at Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. Following his residency, he completed a clinical Neurophysiology fellowship at the same institution. Dr. Figueroa is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology, the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine, and the American Academy of Balance Medicine. Dr. Figueroa's expertise is in the area of movement disorders, spine medicine, headache, stroke, and epilepsy.

Luis J. Batlle

Dr. Luis Batlle is a native Floridian who was born and raised in Miami, Florida. Being the son of Cuban immigrants fleeing communism, and grandson to a physician who left Cuba to restart his medical career in a country with a different language, he learned the values of discipline, hard work and dedication to achieve his personal dreams. It was these attributes instilled in him that led him to graduate with a degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Miami, and a master's degree in Biomedical Sciences from Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida. He then dedicated his efforts towards medicine and attended Rutgers - New Jersey Medical School. After graduation, he completed an internship in General Surgery at Penn State-Hersey Medical Center. As an avid participant of multiple sports such as mixed martial arts, watersports, cycling and rock climbing, Dr. Batlle decided to combine his passions of athletic activities, health, wellness, optimal function and medicine. He therefore became a resident physician in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Miami - Miller School of Medicine. As a resident physician, Dr. Batlle was nationally recognized for his hip ultrasound research at the 2013 American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation National Assembly with a poster presentation nominated for "Best Musculoskeletal Medicine research Poster Presentation". Seeking a humane approach in helping patients obtain the most function and quality in their daily activities, he found his ultimate vocation in the field of Pain Medicine. He joined the Florida Spine Institute to complete his specialized fellowship training in Pain Management, and later joined the practice in 2015. Dr. Batlle specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with spine and joint related pain symptoms. He is board certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and holds past memberships in the Association of Academic Physiatrists, American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, American Academy of Pain Medicine, Florida State Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Southern Pain Society.

Nabil S. Gerges

Nabil S. Gerges, D.O. graduated from California State University, Long Beach Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Biochemistry, after obtaining his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree from Western University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine in Los Angeles, California in 1999. Dr. Gerges completed a one year rotating internship at Sun Coast Hospital/Largo Medical Center. During his Anesthesia training, he also trained at Cleveland Clinic for three months in critical care and pain management, at Tampa General for four months in Cardiac and Obstetric Anesthesia, and at the University of Tennessee for two months in pediatric Anesthesia. Dr. Gerges then completed a one-year fellowship in PMR and Pain Management at Florida Spine Institute. He joined Florida Spine Institute in January 2009 and specializes in improving the quality of his patients' lives by treating all causes of pain including neck, back pain, spinal stenosis, joint pain and any pain that is the result of motor vehicle accidents, sciatica, and sports injury.

Scott Webb

Scott Webb, D.O., is a graduate of Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his internship and Orthopedic Surgical Residency at the county trauma center - Mt. Clemens General Hospital in Michigan. He completed his Spine fellowship at Florida Spine Institute in 1998, where he was trained in all aspects of spine surgery including scoliosis and minimally invasive techniques. Dr. Webb is now the Surgical Director of Florida Spine Institute and is involved in multiple research projects including motion preservation (avoiding fusions of the spine) as well as minimally invasive surgical techniques for the treatment of spinal stenosis and back or neck pain. Dr. Webb has traveled abroad to teach and perform spine surgery. He performed the first Facet Joint Replacement in the Lumbar Spine in Romania and in the United States. He developed the Spine program at the Community Hospital in Timisoara, Romania where he also trained Romanian orthopaedic surgeons in spine surgery from 2004-2009. While doing this he received his Honorary Doctorate (Honoris Causa) from their medical school - Victor Babes University of Medicine and Pharmacy. He has presented at many local and international Spine conferences. Dr. Webb has treated patients throughout North America, South America, Europe, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. He is a member of the North American Spine Society, American College of Spine Surgeons, American Osteopathic Association, American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, and American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. Currently Dr. Webb's focus is on minimally invasive spine surgical techniques, motion preservation surgery, cervical and lumbar disc replacement surgery, as well as disc restoration and regenerative technologies utilizing adult stem cells.
