Hilary Fitzgerald

Hilary Fitzgerald are both from Cape Breton. They opened Fitzgerald's in 2006 as part of their life dream. Roddie worked for one of the largest fine dining restaurants in Cape Breton for over 25 years before opening his own restaurant. He is proud of the training and dedication he learned over the years pleasing guests from many parts of the world - learning that enjoyment of food starts with the appearance and ends with divine taste and experience of superb service. Hilary supports her husband's dreams while maintaining a full time position with a reputable engineering firm in Sydney. She can often be found helping out when not dedicated to her very demanding career.

Roddie Fitzgerald

The Fitzgerald name is a very old name in Cape Breton. Roddie's parents are from the Highlands of Cape Breton Island; his father, Neil, from Smelt Brook and his mother, Rose MacKinnon, from Cape North. Boatbuilding and fishing were very much a part of Roddie's life. He fondly remembers many traditional kitchen parties with his parents and Winston Fitzgerald.

Winston "Scotty" Fitzgerald

Winston "Scotty" Fitzgerald was the man who set the standard for Cape Breton fiddling. Scotty's recording career began with 78's in the late 1940's and his trio continued to record some of the most influential fiddle music to come out of Cape Breton and Roddie's kitchen.Our Delicious Chicken Wings!
