Andrea K. Dear

Andrew joined GPW in 2010 through the GPW intern program. He is a California Certified Public Accountant whose tax expertise is wide-ranging and includes providing tax saving strategies and compliance services for estates, trusts, individuals and business entities, while also representing clients in federal and state examinations and negotiations. Andrew is a leader at GPW in the field of trust, estate and gift tax and has an extensive background in traditional probate, asset protection and complex trust and estate planning with tax compliance. Andrew also constantly monitors developments in the increasingly complex area of state and local tax laws and works with clients to implement proactive strategies to manage exposure and lower the costs of conducting business on a multistate basis. In addition to his experience working with domestic clients, he provides consulting and tax compliance services to international clients. Andrew works with clients and their advisors on tax-saving strategies and compliance related to outbound and inbound transactions in order to implement and maintain a tax-efficient cross-border structure.

Cindy has been a member of the GPW team since 2003. She manages audit, review and compilation engagements for a variety of industries including real estate, escrow, property management, manufacturing and wholesale. She also provides accounting oversight for closely held businesses, individuals and trusts; and assists with the preparation of tax returns. Over her career, Cindy has gained particular expertise in managing audits of employee benefit plans.

Dorothy joined GPW in 2006 and was the Executive Assistant to Dan Gatto for 13 years until his retirement. She is now the Senior Executive Assistant to Tax Partner, Brent Gastineau, as well as various managers in the firm. Dorothy also coordinates the GPW Tax & Audit Internship Program. Dorothy received an Associate's Degree from Skerry's Business College in Ireland before moving to the US in 1989. In her free time Dorothy loves to go on camping trips and visit National Parks with her husband in their Airstream trailer.

Edith joined GPW in 2016. She is the Senior Executive Assistant to the Managing Partner, Thomas McFadden and is passionate about client service. She also assists with financial statement presentation for the audit department as well as coordinating catering for firm events. Edith is an AIPB Certified Bookkeeper and an ALTA certified professional translator. She is also currently taking classes at Mesa College to obtain her Associate in Science Transfer Degree in Business Administration, with the plan to transfer to Point Loma Nazarene University. Edith is an active member of the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers. In her spare time she enjoys running, hiking and spending time with her friends and family.

Greg joined GPW in 1997 and is a San Diego Native. Greg leads the Audit Department and is proficient in U.S. GAAP as well as professional standards as it applies to small to mid-sized non-public companies. He is active in the San Diego business community and leverages those relationships to help firm clients find solutions to their challenges. He works with clients in various industries but specializes in construction contractors. He also oversees the firm's ERISA pension plan audit practice and performs peer reviews for other CPA firms. Greg graduated with honors from University of California Santa Barbra earning a bachelor's degree in business economics with an emphasis in accounting. He has his Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional ("CCIFP") designation and is an active participant in the Construction Financial Management Association ("CFMA") with whom he was a former board member for eight plus years. Greg is affiliated with CalCPA, AICPA, American Subcontractor Association, CFMA, and is currently part of the Masterminds business group. He is also a board member at his church, Bonita Valley Community Church. In his free time, he loves the great outdoors including hiking, biking, paddleboarding, pickleball, and traveling. He also enjoys spending time with his wife Rachel, their three children, and his first granddaughter.

Holly joined GPW in 2005. She is the Executive Assistant to the GPW Operations Partner, Andrea Dear. She is the point of contact for client enrollment, and assists with overseeing the firm operations to ensure our firm systems and applications are fully functioning and up-to-date with client information. Holly attended school in the greater Northwest. Holly originally joined GPW while living in California, but has since moved to San Tan Valley in Arizona. She enjoys the outdoors with her husband and two children and likes to go camping and boating on the Colorado River. When time permits, she also enjoys reading and photography.

Hugh became a member of the GPW team in 2015. His primary focus is with the firm's trust, estate, and gift tax clients and he enjoys mentoring newer staff along their career paths. Hugh earned a B.S. in Accounting from Brigham Young University-Idaho and became licensed in 2016 as a Certified Public Accountant in the state of California. He is a member of CalCPA and AICPA. Though he now resides in Utah, Hugh doesn't particularly enjoy the snow. When not working on tax returns, he enjoys spending time with his wife and kids or geeking out to anything Sci-Fi.

Isaac joined GPW in 2021 through the GPW Intern Program. Isaac assists with the preparation of individual and business tax returns. He enjoys working with diverse entity groups, allowing him to engage with various entity types and grasp the intricacies of organizational structures, along with navigating tax reporting for multiple entity frameworks. Isaac is a member of CalCPA. In his free time, he enjoys being out in nature, going to concerts, and exploring the many restaurants and breweries San Diego has to offer.

Jack joined GPW in 2004 and has practiced as a public accountant since 1988. He is a California Certified Public Accountant specializing in the tax issues that accompany closely held business enterprises and the diverse tax challenges facing their owners. His extensive experience includes consulting, planning, research, and compliance in a wide variety of taxation issues unique to the southern California business and investment environment. As the economic and legislative climates continually evolve, Jack believes it crucial to continually follow the always-fluid developments in tax laws and regulations in order to provide quality and timely guidance to high net-worth individuals and their choice of business/investment structures. Jack earned his B.S. in accounting from San Diego State University. Jack has authored published articles covering various tax issues. He has served as a volunteer for Kids at Heart the American Cancer Society. Jack spends much of his spare time amateurishly studying economics, mathematics and the physical sciences, as well as ZWIFT racing.
