Center for Hearing & Deaf Services, Inc. (HDS), a non-profit agency, has been in continuous operation for more than a century. Founded on September 21, 1921, when social work with Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals was in its infancy, our agency has evolved over 100 years to provide a wide range of professional services for people who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and English language learners... HDS is headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA, with additional offices in Erie and Greensburg... For more than 100 years, HDS has been our region's sole non-profit provider of programs and services to meet those challenges. To that end, our professional staff have developed innovative programs such as: the first Chemical Dependency Program for the Deaf/HH population in the tristate area; an assistive listening and signaling device demonstration and sales center (ADC); a program providing activities for Deaf/HH youth and their families; a Hearing Aid Recycling Program (HARP); and the Pittsburgh..
