Dr. Jeremy Wright

Jeremy is one of the few Cardiologists in Australia with real expertise in multi-modality cardiac imaging. His undergraduate training was at the University of Western Australia with his residency and Cardiology training at Royal Perth Hospital. After an Echocardiography Fellowship at Hearts 1st, he completed a Fellowship in cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR) and computed tomography (CT) at Gasthuisberg University Hospital in Leuven, Belgium. He has joined Hearts 1st where he practices clinical cardiology, cardiac catheterisation, and all aspects of echocardiography, and he is the director of the CMR and CT coronary angiography service at Queensland X-Ray Greenslopes.

Dr. Julie Ch'ng

Originally from Victoria, Julie completed her undergraduate studies at Monash University in Melbourne. Moving to Queensland in search of sunshine in 2004, Julie joined the Hearts 1st team to complete her Echocardiography Fellowship. She continues to work with us as a consultant and has a particular interest in echocardiography and clinical consultation.

Dr. Loretta Carr

Following graduation from the University of Queensland, Loretta spent her resident and basic physician training years in Toowoomba. It was this experience that influenced her decision to pursue a career in cardiology and return to Toowoomba. She undertook advanced training in cardiology at the Royal Brisbane and Women's and the Princess Alexandra Hospitals. Following this, she joined Hearts 1st to complete a two-year echocardiography and cardiac imaging fellowship.

Dr. Sam Fogarty

Dr. Sam Fogarty, a Toowoomba native, is a general cardiologist at Hearts 1st with a focus… Dr Sam Fogarty is excited to have returned to Toowoomba after growing up locally. Sam previously worked as a pharmacist in Toowoomba before completing medical school at University of Queensland. Sam undertook his resident and basic physician training at Toowoomba Hospital before relocating to Brisbane for advanced training in Cardiology, spending time at Princess Alexandra and the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospitals. Following the completion of his Cardiology Training, Sam undertook a two year multimodal cardiac imaging fellowship at Royal Melbourne Hospital encompassing echocardiography, cardiac CT and MRI, with a strong focus on congenital cardiac diseases. Sam subsequently completed a further 12 month echocardiography fellowship with Hearts 1st.

Dr. Shi Yi Goo

Shi Yi is a cardiologist with expertise in multi-modality cardiac imaging. Her undergraduate training was at the University of Queensland in pharmacy. After completion, she started working as a pharmacist while doing post-graduate training at the University of Queensland School of Medicine. Subsequently, she completed her residency and Cardiology training at the Princess Alexandra and the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital. During her Cardiology training, she also undertook a Masters of Philosophy (MPhil) researching subclinical coronary artery disease. Shi Yi has completed a two-year echocardiography and cardiac imaging fellowship with Hearts 1st and has now joined the team, where she practices general cardiology with a special interest in multi-modality cardiac imaging (echocardiography, cardiac CT and MRI).
