Alex Yost is a founding Partner at Exeter Building Company. Exeter is a Wake County custom builder and Alex is uniquely concerned about issues affecting local builders, trade partners and the businesses that support the industry.
Alex's involvement with the HBA began with the Government Affairs Committee, where the HBA enables the membership to interact with local authorities to build relationships, understand focus areas and work through challenges together. With the formation of the HBA Charitable Foundation Board, Alex joined the board to actively find ways to improve workforce development.
Alex has been in the triangle for 40 years and is a graduate of Duke University. His career started in Technology and included roles managing businesses in The United States, Asia and Canada.
In his free time, Alex enjoys time at lake Gaston and travel with his wife Heather and their four children, who have grown up too fast!

Amanda Hoyle is Director of Land Acquisition for Tri Pointe Homes' Raleigh homebuilding division where she is responsible for the growth and expansion of Tri Pointe's land and housing lot opportunities for new residential development projects in central North Carolina.
Prior to joining Tri Pointe in 2021, Amanda spent 16 years as a senior real estate journalist and research analyst for Triangle Business Journal and another four years as regional director for Zonda, a housing market research and advisory firm. She remains an adviser and administrator for TBJ's quarterly commercial real estate SPACE report that provides comprehensive commercial real estate market data for the Raleigh-Durham region.
Amanda has been a member of the HBA of Raleigh-Wake County board of directors since 2019 and also serves on the board of directors for Triangle Community Coalition, a strategic partner organization that advocates for smart land-use policy initiatives across the Triangle region. She is a graduate of the University of Mississippi and lives in Raleigh with her husband Brian, their two children, Isla and Baxter, plus two labradoodle brothers, Charlie and Dougal.

Christy N. Beck, MIRM, CSP, Broker possesses a solid background in new home sales, management, marketing, and training. Her extensive knowledge of the New Homes industry has been gained through her vast experience in positions such as Sr. Vice President of new Homes at Coldwell Banker Howard Perry & Walson, Vice President of Marketing for Bill Clark Homes, and Regional Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Sunstar Homes/Lennar Corporation. She is a Master in Residential Marketing (MIRM) and a Certified Sales Professional (CSP). She has held various leadership positions with NAHB including Chair of NSMC, NAHB Convention Education Chair and serves on the NAHB Education Committee. In January 2017 at the International Builder Show, Christy received the Bill Molster Lifetime Achievement award for her service to NAHB, NSMC, and the Institute of Residential Marketing. Locally, she serves on the Board of Directors for the Raleigh-Wake HBA and was recognized as Builder member of the year in 2019. Serving as Parade of Homes chair 2020 and 2021, she currently is the Presidential Appointee on the Executive Board of the Raleigh- Wake HBA. Christy has been the recipient of numerous sales and marketing awards by the Triangle Sales and Marketing Council (TSMC) MAME awards including Rookie of the Year (1995), Sales Person of the Year (1999), and Silver Marketing Manager of the Year (2001). In 2012 she was named Sales Manager of the Year by the National Association of Home Builders. Christy joined Caruso Homes in 2017 as the Director of Sales and Marketing to help launch the brand in North Carolina. Recently, Christy was promoted to Division Manager for North Carolina, managing the sales and construction teams for all communities within the Triangle area of North Carolina. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina Wilmington and lives in Raleigh, NC with her husband Greg, son Dylan, and her golden doodle, Harley.

Jaclyn joined the HBA of Raleigh-Wake County in February 2013 after planning weddings and catering events for 10 years. Her involvement as a volunteer in a local association drove her to a career in association management and she is passionate about helping others grow personally and professionally. She is a proud Journalism School graduate from the University of North Carolina at CHapel Hill and currently lives in Wake Forest with her husband, Dan, two daughters, and one crazy Plott Hound (the North Carolina State DOg!) She plays and coaches soccer and loves to sew and read books of all kinds.

Jim Derrickson is Senior Vice President at First Bank in Builder Finance with a focus on locally owned home builder companies. Jim started his career in the early eighties and is proud to say he has been lending to the home building industry for a majority of that time.
His primary focus in the HBA of Raleigh - Wake County has been to protect the integrity of the local home building industry by being active in the political/entitlement arena. During his involvement, he has been engaged in most of the candidate discernment processes and has served as Build-Pac Chair.
Jim has been a member of the Board of Directors for over 22 years. He has served three terms as Treasurer. He was awarded the Rookie of the Year in 1997, Outstanding Associate of the Year in 2000, and has won Presidential Awards in 1998, 1999, 2003, 2015,2017, 2021 and 2022.
In addition to his involvement with the HBA, he serves on the Board of the Magellan Charter School Foundation.

Mikkel Thompson has always had a passion for the homebuilding industry and developing teams of people to accomplish great things. Mikkel joined the homebuilding industry in 2004 starting with Toll Brothers in Brier Creek Country Club. Under Toll's structure, he learned the disciplines of sales, land development, land acquisition and construction. He has worked at Pulte for 16 years and is currently the Vice President of Construction Operations for PulteGroup, Inc with responsibility for the Raleigh, Triad and Wilmington markets.
Upon graduating from West Point in 1997, he served seven years Active Duty in the Army as a Blackhawk pilot. His passion for the military continues now as he Chairs the Board for Operation Coming Home, a 501c3 organization run in conjunction with the HBA of Raleigh-Wake County. He joined the Board for the non-profit in 2015 and under the Centex brand built three homes for disabled veterans and one Gold Star family. The organization will deliver its 27th home in January 2024.
Outside of his OCH involvement, Mikkel joined the Raleigh-Wake HBA Board of Directors in 2019. He was presented the Builder Member of the Year in 2020. Mikkel also serves on the East Carolina University Advisory Board for the Construction Management program.
Mikkel is married to his high-school sweetheart, Melanie Thompson, and they have five children: Carter at Clemson, Collin at West Point, Keni, Gia and Emme. He is an outdoor enthusiast and enjoys hunting, fishing, boating, and spending time with the family.

She came from the world of weddings, having worked as both a Wedding\ Planner/Coordinator for five years, and manging Accounts Receivable at a large, local event rental company. Hired in 2006, Suzanne is responsible for monitoring local legislative, governmental and regultory activities which impact the housing industry for the 13 local governments within Wake County and coordinating HBA-RWC's actions and responses. In her role, she fights overly restrictive legislation and resolutions which are detrimental to the housing industry and works proactively with government entities to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes. Prior to working for the HBA-RWC, Suzanne worked for the Wake County Government in their Environmental Services Department. SHe received her B.S. from Cornell University and a dual Masters in Public Administration and City and Regional Planning from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Two items on Suzanne's "life to do" list are training a dog in Search and Rescue and learning American Sign Language.

In May 2014 Tom Anhut founded Anhut Properties, a residential land acquisition and development firm, leveraging Tom's 20 years of new home construction industry experience. The company focuses mainly on upper-end projects in the Research Triangle Park area of North Carolina. Anhut Properties created A2Group, LLC, a partnership with Jim Adams of Millridge Investments, one of the area's leading developers with over 30 years' experience. A2Group currently has 10 projects consisting of almost 700 lots under contract and in various stages of the approval and site development process. In recognition of his almost 25 years of service, in 2023 Tom was inducted into the Home Builders Association Hall of Fame.
As the Raleigh Division President for both Ashton Woods Homes and Toll Brothers for a total of 14 years, Tom is an expert on the new home market in the Triangle. He relocated to Raleigh in August, 1999 to develop Toll's $700 million Brier Creek Country Club community, consisting of over 1,800 homes surrounding $27 million in amenities and featuring an Arnold Palmer Signature golf course. In 2010, Tom negotiated Toll's purchase out of foreclosure of the Triangle's highest end residential golf course community, Hasentree, and reset the project to become one of the top selling in the area. Under his leadership, Tom's new home divisions in Raleigh delivered almost 2,500 luxury homes, representing $1.3 billion in revenue. At Toll, he was also promoted to Group President responsible for overseeing the company's operations in the Carolinas and Georgia, comprised of new home divisions in Raleigh, Charlotte, Atlanta, and Hilton Head, and including 4 golf course communities.
Tom joined Toll Brothers in April 1995 as a Project Manager in the Philadelphia area and was promoted to Vice President in less than 5 years. Prior to that he worked for Ryland Homes as a site superintendent, as a Realtor in Alexandria Virginia, and before that spent 9 years as an officer in the US Army Corps of Engineers, stationed in Italy, Saudi Arabia, Boston, and in northern Virginia 3 separate times. Tom graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Architecture degree in 1984.
