Alecia Poole

Alecia completed Year 12 and went straight on to study the Advanced Diploma of Conveyancing which she successfully completed in 2022. Whilst studying for her diploma she applied for a position here at our office in 2021 for a conveyancer's assistant. Alecia's smile and zest for life just brighten ups your day. She will endeavor to answer any queries or concerns in a prompt, professional and friendly manner. Alecia thoroughly enjoys her career in conveyancing and while she is new, she throws herself into learning more and more each day, with the excellent guidance by Jake. Whilst not at work she enjoys spending time with family and friends and going to all things conveyancing to broaden her knowledge of the industry. In the very near future, she would like to fit in some travelling.

Deb Clegg

Deb graduated from her Land Broking course in 1992, dux of her course, and has been employed as a Registered Conveyancer since that time. Prior to her decision to become a Licenced Land Broker, as they were then known, she worked in the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, mostly in the lending area. She has worked at well respected conveyancing firms and as a Conveyancer in law offices Clelands Lawyers, Minter Ellison and Hunt & Hunt Adelaide. Deb has a comprehensive knowledge of most matters relating to property including residential, rural and commercial properties with a particular interest in land divisions. Deb gets great job satisfaction from working with and on behalf of new and return clients, guiding them through the processes required with the goal of completing settlement with a minimum of fuss and on the scheduled date. Away from work she loves nothing better than spending time with family & friends enjoying life. She continues to be a volunteer at club netball level as she has done for over 25 years in various capacities & loves to watch most sports.

Debbi Matthews

Debbi joined the Houtermans Horner team in late 2022, after working within the real estate industry for the previous 30 years. She is always ready with a smile to welcome you into the office, or a warm greeting when you telephone us. Happily married for over 35 years with 3 grown children, when not working Debbi spends time with her family and 2 boxer dogs and loves to bake, often bringing sweet treats into the office for her colleagues.

Jake Evans

Job Titles:
  • Director / Registered Conveyancer
Born and raised in Strathalbyn on the Fleurieu Peninsula, he began his conveyancing career in Victor Harbor in 2007 and has been a Registered Conveyancer since 2013. Jake has a high level of experience in many aspects of conveyancing including residential and commercial settlements, Contract and Form 1 preparation, family transfers, leases, land divisions and retirement village transactions. Handling settlements for businesses, commercial properties and hotels for amounts in excess of $20 million, all the way to blocks of land in Andamooka, Jake has handled it all. He has built long lasting relationships with first home buyers, investors and small and large businesses and aims to ensure Houtermans Horner Conveyancing is one of the most respected Conveyancing companies in South Australia Jake holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of South Australia and outside of work he loves spending time with his family and friends, watching sport and attending live music. He has previously been a committee member of the Strathalbyn Football Club, where he was the club Secretary during their 2014 premiership winning season. He loves interactions with new and existing clients and will be more than happy to discuss any conveyancing matter.

Mark van Hoof

Mark joined Houtermans Horner Conveyancing in 2023 and is proud to say that he has completed his Advanced Diploma in Conveyancing this year! Mark is soon to be a Registered Conveyancer. He really enjoys the challenge that this provides, and loves working with our clients to achieve the best outcome for all involved. Mark's aim is to make the more complicated transactions simple, and smooth for our clients. Having great attention to detail is a major requirement of the job, and it sometimes Mark feels like he is spinning a few plates, but he always makes sure he doesn't drop them. Away from work he enjoys trying out the fantastic restaurants that Adelaide has to offer and is always on the lookout for his new favourite!

Michael Horner

Michael has been Conveyancing since 1984 and in the practice of Houtermans Horner since 1988. He has a wealth of experience in all facets of conveyancing and is happy to share his knowledge with all his clients. He has been recognised as a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Conveyancers (SA) for his outstanding contribution to the industry. Michael is a devoted family man with three children. His pride and joy is his Harley Davidson motorbike and loves a leisurely country ride.

Tony first gained his Conveyancing Licence in 1982. In 1987 he commenced his own Business in Tea Tree Gully, and has gained a loyal following of repeat and regular Clients, who value his expertise and professionalism. Tony is married with 3 adult children and sees this opportunity as a way of continuing to assisting his Clients well into the future.
