HIAS Pennsylvania provides legal and social services to low-income and at-risk immigrants and refugees... "HIAS" stands for "Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society," and is an acronym that has been part of our name since the early 20th century. We are proud of our history as a Jewish organization that was created to help Jewish refugees, and, since the 1970s-precisely because we understood what it meant to be a refugee-we have been proud of our work to help refugees of all faiths and backgrounds... HIAS Pennsylvania supports low-income immigrants of all backgrounds as they build new lives in our community. Through immigration legal services and an array of social services, we work to address their needs, defend their rights, and advocate for their equitable inclusion in American society.
