The nursery was once a diverse plant and gardening nursery, but in 2008 it was transformed and now focuses only on bamboo. We supply bamboo as wholesaler to farms, nurseries, and big projects all over Africa... For more than 25 years we have been supplying plants to plantations, nurseries and farmers. Besides the supply of selected superior bamboo clones, Hortus Capensis assist in the set-up of plantations and related nurseries on site for clients and do consulting to reach the best result on a bamboo plantation as well. Manager Christiaan Schultz together with his experienced team is ready to assist you... Born and based in Belgium, JAN OPRINS dedicated his life to cultivate plants. In 1979 he got his first bamboos and started multiplying. Together with Dr. Johan Gielis and the University of Ghent technics for multiplying bamboo trough Tissue Culture were developed.
