Ed's four decades in the energy, insurance and surety businesses include development of the specialty insurances and surety products that first enabled independent producers to operate in the Gulf of Mexico. He founded Underwriters Indemnity Company, which was sold to RLI Corp. in 1999. He is a former director of HCC Insurance Holdings, Inc.
