IDS IMAGING DEVELOPMENT SYSTEMS - Key Persons
Alexander Lewinsky initially studied Robotics and Automation (BEng) at Heilbronn University of Applied Sciences, then completed a Master's degree in Business Management at Middlesex University in London (MSc). He joined the company in 2012, first as product manager, later as head of purchasing and division manager for production/logistics and quality assurance.
Dr Michael Berger studied business administration at the University of Bayreuth. He then completed a doctorate in sales and market management at the University of Constance. Dr Berger subsequently worked for several years in sales and product management functions at well-known companies in the automotive industry. Most recently, he was General Manager of the Lithium-Ion Cells business unit at Varta AG, specialising in sales and marketing. In January 2024, he joined the IDS Management Board.

Jan Hartmann studied economics at the Goethe University in Frankfurt after completing his training as an IT specialist. He then joined the IDS Group in 2017. Initially, he was responsible for the corporate real estate division and afterwards for the sister company IDS Innovation. Before his entry into the IDS management board in March 2020, he was already in charge of the banking, insurance and legal departments.
Jürgen Hartmann studied electronics at the University of Applied Sciences Heilbronn. During his laboratory work, he came into contact with image processing for the first time. After completing his studies, he started working as an applications engineer at the German subsidiary of an American company for metrology and machine vision. The idea of developing PC plug-in cards for image processing in Germany arose. In 1997 he founded IDS Imaging Development Systems GmbH together with a partner to do just that. Under his leadership this manufacturer of analogue frame grabbers successfully entered the world of digital industrial cameras in 2004.
In January 2024, Jürgen Hartmann stepped down from the IDS Management Board to work as Chief Innovation Manager in an advisory capacity in the areas of technology and innovation. He remains Managing Partner of Hartmann Holding GmbH.
