In the present times, IIMC has expanded its academic activities and now runs a range of specialised courses to meet the skilled manpower requirements of the rapidly expanding media and communication industry. IIMC also makes a concerted effort to constantly innovate its programmes to meet the challenges thrown up by developments in the industry. The syllabi are regularly reviewed for necessary changes and suitable modifications to make them relevant to the needs of the industry... The Western Regional Centre of IIMC was established at Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University campus in 2011. In the beginning, Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism (English) course was introduced. The Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism (Marathi) was introduced in 2017 to produce professionals for Marathi language media. Then in 2022, a Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism (Hindi) course was introduced. All these courses have earned a high reputation as the pass out students are pursuing careers in leading media..
