IMMAP - Key Persons
Aamir is the finance manager for iMMAP, based in Washington D.C. in the United States. He is responsible for the overall cash and financial management of the organization. He works closely with iMMAP global personnel to prepare monthly financial closing statements, financial reports for projects, conducting risk assessments for new implementing partners while assisting technical teams in project design and implementation together with audit processes and financial proposals for donor agencies.
Aamir has over 28 years of experience in finance, analysis, audit and accounting. Prior to joining iMMAP, Aamir was a financial analyst and accountant with USAID in Pakistan for 18 years managing a yearly program cycle with a portfolio of over 2 billion USD. Prior to that, he worked as the chief accountant for the International School of Islamabad for four years and a senior associate for audit and business assurance services department of Deloitte also for four years.
Aamir holds a MBA in Finance from the International Islamic University of Islamabad, Pakistan while being a fellow member of the Public Financial Accountants of Pakistan. Aamir further holds certificates including but not limited to, Fiscal Decentralization and Local Governance from Georgia State University, and Audit Management from the Federal Executive Institute in Charlottesville as well as attending trainings such as Public Financial Management workshop conducted by IMF and design, implementation and negotiation of local solutions in Pretoria, South Africa among others.
Abdon Trowonou joined iMMAP in 2010 and has since served in different roles within the organization. Before taking on his current functions at the HQ in the United States, he successively worked as Program Manager in Pakistan, Country Director in Yemen, Global Partnership Program Manager and most recently Regional Representative for Africa.
Prior to joining iMMAP Abdon worked for nearly a decade in the medical research arena, managing patients' data for the Hereditary Cancer Center at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska (USA). He also served with the United Nations in the Democratic Republic of Congo and in Afghanistan.

Alexa is the Staff Accountant at iMMAP, responsible for processing invoices and invoice payments to vendors and consultants, as well as assisting with monthly journal entries, bank reconciliation, and other special projects as required. She also ensures the accuracy of consultants' and employees' banking information for timely payments.
Prior to joining iMMAP, Alexa worked as a Staff Accountant for almost two years at Associated Builders and Contractors, a non-profit organization. Here, she had a wide range of responsibilities, including processing invoices, preparing journal entries, and account reconciliations, as well as preparing multiple financial statements for different sub-companies and a monthly sales commissions report for ABC Services Corporation.
Alexa holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from George Mason University, where she also participated in a two-year study abroad program at the Mason Korea campus before finishing her degree in Fairfax, Virginia. Alexa's objective is to become a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), demonstrating her dedication to the accounting profession. Fluent in English, she is also actively learning French to broaden her language skills.

Brian Finlay is Chairman Emeritus of the Board of Directors of iMMAP. He served as the Chairman from 2006 until 2020.
Brian is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Stimson Center. Under his tenure since 2016, Stimson has transformed its business model, launched pioneering new engagements across Asia, and industry-defining programming on environmental security, renewable energy, and technology. The Center also opened its first overseas office in Europe. As a result, the Center has tripled in size and continues to dramatically outperform similarly-sized institutions in global rankings. Notably, Stimson, today boasts the most diverse and inclusive workforce of any major Washington think tank. Brian previously served as Vice President, Managing Director, and Senior Fellow at Stimson.
Prior to joining the Center, he served as executive director of a Washington-based lobbying initiative focused on counterterrorism issues, as a researcher at the Brookings Institution, and as a program officer at the Century Foundation. Prior to emigrating to the United States from his native Canada, Brian served with the Public Health Agency and the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade. Brian was an adjunct professor at American University in Washington, and today sits on the Editorial Board of Global Security, a journal of health, science and policy published by Routledge, Taylor & Francis.
With expertise in nonproliferation, transnational crime, counter-trafficking, and supply chain security, Brian holds an M.A. from the Norman Patterson School of International Affairs at Carleton University, a graduate diploma from the School of Advanced International Studies, the Johns Hopkins University and an honors B.A. from Western University in Canada.

Dan Grant is a foreign policy professional with more than twenty years experience, and is currently working with The Carter Center. He served as an appointee to USAID as the Deputy Assistant to the Administrator in the Office of Afghanistan and Pakistan Affairs, overseeing a multibillion-dollar portfolio concerning energy, stabilization, education, agriculture, and public health.
Prior to his appointment to USAID, he worked as an international affairs consultant for the U.S. State and Defense Departments, as well as for NATO, and the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School. He has worked extensively in the field in a variety of post- and current-conflict countries, including Iraq, Afghanistan, Kosovo, and Bosnia. Highlights of his time overseas include working in the Iraqi elections ministry, overseeing operations for the Afghan currency exchange, and working on the Afghan Emergency and Constitutional Loya Jirgas.
He is a graduate of the London School of Economics Graduate School, and Georgetown University's Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service. Dan lives in Washington with his wife, Ami, and their two children, Jack and Grace.

Doaa is currently iMMAP's Field Finance Coordinator, based in Washington DC.
Prior to joining iMMAP, she worked at Michael Baker International as the Client Liaison Officer for one and a half years. She also worked for seven years at Almada Media Group as a Senior Executive Assistant, and as a Customer service Associate at Zamwa Advertising Company, for two years.

Jason is the accounting manager at iMMAP in Washington D.C., responsible for the month and year-end close processes, including reconciling balance sheet accounts, preparing journal entries, and generating financial reports that comply with U.S GAAP standards. He also maintains the general ledger and works closely with the finance department to ensure compliance with U.S and international donor requirements.
Jason has 8 years of experience helping to grow and develop strong accounting processes and procedures. Prior to his role at iMMAP, Jason served as a General Ledger and Accounts Payable Supervisor for a government contractor, where he implemented new accounting software to streamline day-to-day activities. Jason's valuable experience includes advising clients during critical situations, such as PPP loans.
Jason holds a bachelor's degree in accounting and economics from the University of South Carolina and is currently working towards his CPA license. Fluent in English, he is also actively learning Portuguese.

Jeffrey Kaufman is iMMAP's Finance Director, based in Washington, DC. He is responsible for the financial operations of the organization. He works closely with iMMAP global personnel to support the organizational activities which include the monthly and year of end close, audit activities, 990 preparation and ensuring internal control procedures support operations and maintain compliance with US and international donor requirements.
Jeffrey has over 25 years of experience in international development as a program manager along with his financial controllerships with US Agency for International Development (USAID) and international non-profits. Some of his key accomplishments include leading the development of a first-of-its-kind 2 billion USD government to government agreement to reduce fraud and maximize the use of government resources. He has served in multiple countries abroad including but not limited to West Bank and Gaza, Iraq, Afghanistan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Haiti.
Jeffrey is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Virginia, USA. He holds a Bachelor of Science from East Carolina University in Construction Management and a Master´s in Accounting and Taxation from George Mason University.

Leslie R. Hinkson is a sociologist whose research and consulting work focuses on processes of organizational change, stratification, and inequality within and across organizations as well as the role and meaning of race across institutional contexts and its effect on education, employment, and health outcomes.
She is currently Chief Officer of Racial Justice and Equity for the League of Conservation Voters, where she is responsible for helping create and implement an overarching vision for racial justice and equity at LCV - both at the programmatic and operational levels - that works to eliminate ensure the organization honors its commitments to be a diverse, antiracist, equitable, and inclusive organization. Before joining LCV, Dr. Hinkson was Assistant Professor of sociology at Georgetown University, with a courtesy appointment in African American studies (of which she was a founding member).
A critical race scholar and a mixed-methodologist researcher, Dr. Hinkson has a Ph.D. in sociology from Princeton University, a MS in Public and Urban Policy from the New School, and a BA in political economy from Williams College. Dr. Hinkson is also an alumna of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's Health Policy Post-Doctoral program. Dr. Hinkson is an alumna of the Bronx High School of Science, which she credits for inspiring both her love for, and her critical approach to collecting, evaluating, and analyzing data.
