Abby Howland

Job Titles:

As a member of the Institutional Services team, Ms. Howland oversees operations and provides support to the sales, service, and consultant relations effort. Ms. Howland manages the internal processes relating to marketing & client communication, the client database, and the overall coordination of marketing and client service activity. Prior to joining Intercontinental in 2018, Ms. Howland graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English from the College of the Holy Cross.

Alex M. Taranto

Alex M. Taranto is responsible for managing development projects on all phases including due diligence for acquisition, permitting, construction phase, and commissioning. Alex works closely with lending institutions, local authorities, partners, design consultants, and contractors to ensure that projects are held to the highest quality while being delivered on schedule and within budget. This includes contract negotiation, program and design review, Schedule review, Budget Analysis, change order review and any project specific tasks. Before joining Intercontinental in September 2016 Alex worked as a project manager for 5 years with a general contractor on various tenant improvement and building systems projects in Boston and the Greater Boston area. As project manager he was responsible for budgeting, scheduling, sub-contract buy-out, construction process, and close-out on all of his projects. Mr. Taranto graduated in 2011 from Roger Williams University with a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management; an American Council of Construction Education accredited program.

Alissa Crafa

Ms. Crafa is responsible for performing portfolio valuations and financial analysis to assist management in the budgeting, forecasting, leasing and portfolio management process. She is also responsible for market research analysis, advising on investment and market conditions for existing assets and acquisitions. Ms. Crafa is a member of Intercontinental's Senior Management Committee and Investment Committee. Prior to joining Intercontinental in 2007, Ms. Crafa worked as an Acquisition Analyst and Asset Manager at The Broe Companies in Denver, was Vice President of Corporate Real Estate at JP Morgan Chase in Chicago and was an Equity Research REIT Analyst at Citigroup Smith Barney in New York. Ms. Crafa earned her Bachelors in Mathematics with a concentration in Business from the University of Connecticut. Ms. Crafa is a member of Intercontinental's Investment Committee.

Andrew Brett

Andrew Brett has primary responsibility for consultant relations while broadly supporting Intercontinental's mission of highly dedicated institutional services. Andrew works closely with Portfolio Management and Research together with other departments across the Company in order to advance the Company's Institutional Services practice.Prior to joining Intercontinental, Andrew spent over 14 years at New England Pension Consultants ("NEPC"), a leading investment advisory firm based in Boston, Massachusetts. He was a Principal of the Firm, spent the last five years as Director of Real Assets Research and served on the Firm's Alternative Asset Committee. Andrew earned a B.A. in Economics from Union College and holds the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation. Andrew is a member of Intercontinental's Investment Committee and ESG Committee.

Andrew Schamber

Andrew Schamber assists in creating and maintaining pro forma financial models related to Intercontinental's existing portfolio of assets. He is responsible for performing financial analyses and valuations to help management in the budgeting, forecasting, leasing, and portfolio decision-making process. Prior to joining Intercontinental Real Estate Corporation in 2018, Mr. Schamber worked as a Senior Associate at PwC in the Financial Markets group with a focus on real estate business advisory services. He was responsible for preparing and reviewing ASC 805 analyses, ASC 820 analyses, Appraisals, REIT testing, and real property valuations for the purposes of audited financial statements. Mr. Schamber holds a BS in Accounting and Finance from Northeastern University. In addition, Mr. Schamber holds the Certified Commercial Investment Manager (CCIM) designation.

Anna Cristofori

Ms. Cristofori assists in the management of Intercontinental's national portfolio comprised of multifamily, commercial office, life science, retail, and industrial assets. Her responsibilities include: reviewing monthly reports submitted by third party managers; assisting in quarterly valuations and the appraisal process; monitoring portfolio operations; reviewing and analyzing operating budgets & reforecasts; and administering leases. In addition, Ms. Cristofori assists in the acquisition process for new out-of-state investments. Prior to joining the Asset Management team at Intercontinental, Ms. Cristofori worked as a Property Administrator at Brigham Square, one of Intercontinental's residential assets in Arlington, MA. Ms. Cristofori holds a BS in Finance from the University of New Hampshire. Additionally, Ms. Cristofori holds a Massachusetts Real Estate License and is a LEED Green Associate.

Anthony Marquez

Mr. Marquez is based in Los Angeles and works on the acquisition of Intercontinental's real estate holdings throughout the Western United States, including multifamily, industrial, office, and retail assets. Mr. Marquez assists with the underwriting, analysis, due diligence, sourcing, and closing of potential acquisitions and development projects. Prior to joining Intercontinental, Mr. Marquez worked at Goldman Sachs as a Financial Analyst where he implemented investment proposals for ultra-high net worth individuals, executed trade requests, and analyzed various portfolio strategies based on client needs. Mr. Marquez earned his BSBA in Finance from the University of Arizona, graduating summa cum laude from the Eller College of Management.

Bart Weinstein

Mr. Weinstein works closely with institutional investors and investment consultants as part of the Institutional Services team. In addition to his investor relations responsibilities, Mr. Weinstein conducts investment and economic research within the alternative markets for the firm. Prior to joining Intercontinental in 2010, Mr. Weinstein was a Deputy Team Leader on the fixed income analytics desk at Bloomberg L.P. in New York City. While at Bloomberg, Mr. Weinstein provided fixed income analysis for financial institutions. Mr. Weinstein earned his BA in Government & Political Science from Cornell University in 2007. Mr. Weinstein also holds the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst designation and is a member of the CAIA Association.

Betty Chou

Ms. Chou is responsible for managing bill backs, expense reports, processing accounts payable invoices for multiple assets, assisting in check runs and processing account receivable cash for multiple entities. Prior to Intercontinental, Ms. Chou worked at RK Centers, and was in charge of accounts payable and monthly banking statements for retail centers.

Brandon Millen

Job Titles:
  • Director, Investment Reporting and Performance Measurement
Mr. Millen is responsible for compiling, calculating, and producing returns at all levels and tracking performance against industry accepted benchmarks. This includes Net Asset Value, Time Weighted Returns, and IRR calculations. Mr. Millen also works closely with Institutional Services, Asset Management, and Accounting to manage and streamline financial reporting, which includes property-level financials, fund statistics, and market updates. He is charged with ensuring accuracy of RFP's, RFI's, ad-hoc investor/consultant requests, as well as overseeing client extranet reporting as it relates to performance. Prior to joining Intercontinental, Mr. Millen worked with Senior Housing Properties Trust as a Financial Analyst and Senior Corporate Accountant where he maintained their five-year financial forecast, assisted with financial reporting, prepared quarterly debt covenants for multiple senior notes and a revolving credit facility, and assisted with accounting functions for a portfolio with over 390 properties and $5 billion in gross investment value. Mr. Millen earned his B.S. from Lehigh University with a degree in Finance, and his MBA with a concentration in Finance from UMass Boston.

Carlos Webster

Mr. Webster is responsible for assisting the Fund Controller for U.S. Real Estate Investment Fund, LLC ("US REIF") in preparing quarterly and year-end Fund financial statements and supporting work papers. In this role, Mr. Webster is responsible for maintaining and reconciling general ledgers, providing budget to actual variance analysis, cash flow and distribution projections, lender compliance reports, reviewing financial statements prepared by third party management companies, assisting with budgets, managing construction equity and loan draws, preparing common area maintenance (CAM) reconciliations, and acting as a liaison between third party independent auditors. Prior to joining Intercontinental in 2015, Mr. Webster worked as a Senior Property Accountant at Winn Residential. As part of his responsibilities, Mr. Webster prepared financial statements for 24 properties, annual and mid-year budgets, budget to actual variance analysis, cash flow projections, as well as reviewing monthly financial packages prepared by Property Accountants. As an integral part of his job, Mr. Webster worked on new acquisitions and worked closely with external auditors to complete year-end audits. Mr. Webster earned a BSBA in Accounting from New England College of Business. He also holds a Massachusetts Real Estate License.

Chris Boehm

Christopher Boehm leads Intercontinental's financial analysis and due diligence activities. In this role, he performs valuations, feasibility studies, quantitative due diligence, and in-depth analysis of all types of real estate development and investment opportunities and financings. In this capacity he is responsible for the creation and enhancement of Intercontinental's proprietary valuation and development models. He also works closely with the firm's Institutional Services Group in its client relations activities, frequently communicating with both existing and prospective clients in providing updates regarding the firm and portfolio performance. Mr. Boehm is a member of Intercontinental's Investment Committee. Mr. Boehm previously served as the firm's Director of Research, in which capacity he performed market research and advised the firm's investment and executive committees regarding research and strategy for individual assets and the firm's managed portfolios. Prior to joining Intercontinental, Mr. Boehm served as U.S. Director of Research Operations for CBRE, Inc. where he managed all aspects of CBRE's U.S. Research Group, which included over 200 researchers serving CBRE's transaction and advisory professionals located throughout the company's U.S. offices. He previously served as Vice President of Project Finance for Winn Companies in Boston, MA where he managed financial analysis, lender and joint venture relations, and coordination with public agencies, concentrating primarily on a 1.4 million square foot mixed-use air rights development. Mr. Boehm also served as Manager of Finance at Gilbane Properties in Providence, RI, as a Senior Associate in the Structured Finance Group at Spaulding & Slye Colliers in Boston, MA, and as Manager of Finance at The Taubman Company in Bloomfield Hills, MI. Chris LaFrance

Mr. LaFrance is responsible for assisting in the sourcing, analysis, due diligence, and closing of acquisitions and development projects for Intercontinental-sponsored funds. Among Midwest, DC/Northern Virginia and Florida markets, he oversees the acquisition process - including the underwriting, due diligence, debt placement, and presentation to the firm's Investment Committee. Mr. LaFrance has over 12 years of industry experience and has successfully been involved in over $2.5 billion worth of real estate transactions. Prior to joining Intercontinental in 2011, Mr. LaFrance worked for Winthrop Management in the Property Accounting and Management group, overseeing accounting and financial reporting functions for two multifamily portfolios totaling 2,400 units. He worked closely with asset managers to effectively implement operating cost savings and unit renovation strategies for over $200 million worth of distressed properties in New York and Los Angeles. Mr. LaFrance began his career in investment sales with a boutique advisory firm in San Diego, where he was a key contributor on the private-client team focusing on multifamily, mixed-use, and student housing assets. Mr. LaFrance earned his BA from Providence College and an MBA with a concentration in Real Estate from Bentley University. He holds a Real Estate License in Massachusetts and is a member of the Real Estate Finance Association (REFA) as well as local chapters of NAIOP and ULI. As a supporter of several community and preservation groups, he sits on the Heading Home Foundation's Outreach Council and has served on the Advisory Board of Nantucket Community Sailing.

Christopher Tully

Mr. Tully is responsible for asset management of Intercontinental's out-of-state real estate holdings. More specifically, Mr. Tully is responsible for managing high quality office, residential and mixed use assets; cultivating and maintaining tenant relationships; developing and managing operating budgets; forecasting short and long term space availability; and evaluating economic and demographic trends within the portfolio's geographic area. In addition, he is an active participant with the acquisitions group in the underwriting process for new and out-of-state investments. Mr. Tully leads his team on all operations associated with commercial and residential properties in his region. Prior to joining Intercontinental in 2006, Mr. Tully worked as an Asset Manager at ELV Associates, Inc., a privately held, fully integrated real estate investment firm. He was responsible for all leasing and management in New England, led the acquisition process for several commercial properties, and managed the initial phases of the construction and development processes for several New England projects. Previously, Mr. Tully was an Asset Manager for MGI Properties, a Boston based REIT, where he managed a portfolio of 21 assets including office, R&D, and industrial buildings. Mr. Tully graduated from Lynchburg College in 1986 with a BS in Business Administration.

Colby Slifka

Daniel George

Mr. George is responsible for all matters pertaining to Intercontinental's Accounts Receivable Department. In this role, he maintains all leases and security deposits as well as inputting charges and researching tenant-related issues. Mr. George also processes all monthly billings and records cash transactions, including all lockbox deposits. Prior to joining Intercontinental, Mr. George worked as a Lease Analyst at REIT Management and Research in Watertown, MA. During his tenure there he was responsible for all leases and billings for over 800 tenants in the Northeast and Southeast regions. He acted as a hub for all leasing information, updating multiple leasing databases, and was the point of contact for all leasing issues for the tenants and staff within his regions. Mr. George earned his B.A. in Economics from Assumption College in Worcester, MA.

Dante Papas

David Reneker

Based in our West Coast Office, Mr. Reneker works closely with institutional investors and investment consultants as part of the Institutional Services Group. He is responsible for covering and expanding Intercontinental's Institutional relationships nationwide with a focus on the West Coast and in Texas. Mr. Reneker has over 20 years of investment experience and strong relationships in the Taft-Hartley and Public Pension sectors. David S. Carella - CFO

David S. Carella is the Chief Financial Officer. As Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Carella assumes the lead role in directing the accounting, reporting and treasury functions for Intercontinental. He is also a member of the Senior Management Committee and Risk Committee. Mr. Carella has been a member of the Intercontinental team since 1993. Prior to his current role at Intercontinental, Mr. Carella was the Director of Corporate Finance and had primary responsibility for non-fund accounting, bank reconciliation, accounts payables/receivables, payroll and benefits. Mr. Carella earned his Associate in Science Degree from Quincy College and Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and Finance from Bridgewater State University.

Deborah Goncalves

Ms. Goncalves is responsible for the management of a mixed portfolio of Intercontinental's real estate holdings located in Suburban IL, DC, VA and TX. Her portfolio includes commercial office, retail, and multi-family product types and responsibilities include the implementation of business plans, overseeing capital planning and budgeting, lease analysis and negotiation as well as working closely with the portfolio management team in valuations and monitoring market trends. In addition, Ms. Goncalves also assists in the acquisition process for new out-of-state investments. Prior to joining Intercontinental in 2008, Ms. Goncalves worked for CB Richard Ellis as an Assistant Real Estate Manager on a mixed portfolio of Class A office and industrial buildings for various owners in Newport Beach and throughout Orange County, California. Previously, she worked at Boston Properties as a Tenant Coordinator supporting several Property Managers on a large portfolio of suburban office buildings in MA. Ms. Goncalves holds a BA from the University of Rhode Island and holds certificates in Commercial Real Estate and Real Estate Finance from Boston University and is an active member of the Boston Chapter of the CREW Organization.

Doug Angstrom

Doug Angstrom founded Angstrom Capital Advisors,LLC in 2009 to market investment management strategies to institutional allocators. Prior to Angstrom Capital Advisors, Mr. Angstrom was Managing Director-Head of Public Funds at Goldman Sachs Asset Management from 2002 to his retirement in 2008. Mr. Angstrom's background includes Vice President of Institutional Sales at AllianceBernstein from 1999 through 2001 and Director of Institutional Sales at Invista Capital Management, a subsidiary of the Principal in Des Moines, Iowa, from 1990 to 1999. Mr. Angstrom received his B.S. in Business Administration in 1975 from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. He received his Certified Public Accountant certificate in 1977 and received his Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 1990. Mr. Angstrom is a past president of the Iowa Society of Financial Analysts.

Doug Arevalo

Mr. Arevalo is responsible for end user support, network troubleshooting, license tracking, performing PC maintenance, upgrades and configurations. In this role, he resolves problems to the end user's satisfaction, assists with onboarding of new users, configures and deploys iOS devices. He maintains inventory of all equipment, software, and software licenses and performs remote problem solving through use of remote connection and installation tools. Additionally, Mr. Arevalo creates and manages AD users, Groups, and Computer objects. Prior to joining Intercontinental in 2016, Mr. Arevalo worked in the Production department at FastCAP Systems, a company specialized in Ultracapacitors. Previously he worked at Imprivata Inc. where he provided IT support for the company's headquarters. Mr. Arevalo graduated from Wentworth Institute of Technology in 2015 with a BS in Computer Engineering.

Eric Lei

Eric Lei assists in preparing and reviewing federal and state tax returns for U.S. Real Estate Investment Fund, LLC as well as their joint ventures. Prior to joining Intercontinental Real Estate Corporation in 2021, Mr. Lei worked as a Senior Tax Associate at Aprio, LLP, where he specialized in taxation of real estate partnerships. He specifically worked on low-income housing and complex real estate joint ventures clients. Mr. Lei earned his BS in Accountancy and MAS in Taxation with a focus on real estate from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Gail Oda

Previously, Ms. Oda was a Property Accountant with WS Development, one of the largest privately-held retail development firms in the U.S. She was responsible for preparing monthly and quarterly financial statements, cash flow projections, preparing the annual budget for the properties within her portfolio, and common area maintenance (CAM) reconciliations. Ms. Oda earned a BS in Management from Emmanuel College.

Harrison Wax

Mr. Wax works in Intercontinental's West Coast Office located in Los Angeles. Mr. Wax assists in the asset management of Intercontinental's real estate holdings throughout California, including office, residential, industrial and retail assets. Mr. Wax helps implement each asset's business plan while overseeing capital improvement projects, leasing and overall property operations. In addition, Mr. Wax also assists in the acquisition process for new California investments. Prior to joining Intercontinental in 2016, Mr. Wax worked as an Acquisitions Analyst at The Lighthouse Group, LLC where they specialize in value-add, multifamily assets in several national markets. In this capacity Mr. Wax specialized in underwriting and due diligence. Previously, Mr. Wax worked at Coastline Real Estate Advisors, Inc. where he managed renovations of many value-add, multifamily properties throughout Southern California. While at Coastline he also managed an apartment portfolio in Los Angeles. Mr. Wax earned his BS in Business Management from The University of Arizona: Eller College of Management.

Heather Sullivan

Heather Sullivan, Assistant Controller, is responsible for assisting the Fund Controller for U.S. Real Estate Investment Fund, LLC in preparing quarterly and year-end Fund financial statements and supporting work papers. Ms. Sullivan also analyzes debt valuations, monitors significant real estate events and performs budget variance analysis as a part of providing daily valuation reporting to the Intercontinental Real Estate Collective Investment Trust. Prior to joining Intercontinental in 2013, Ms. Sullivan worked as an auditor for KPMG with a primary focus on real estate clients. Ms. Sullivan earned her BBA in Accounting from the University of Massachusetts, Isenberg School of Management. Ms. Sullivan is a Certified Public Accountant.

Ian Hoser

Prior to joining the asset management team at Intercontinental, Mr. Hoser worked as a Research Analyst/Associate Broker for Hunneman, a commercial real estate brokerage firm in downtown Boston. Mr. Hoser received his Bachelors in Business Administration from the University of Vermont in 2015.

Ingrid Fickel

Ms. Fickel is responsible for assisting the Fund Controller for U.S. Real Estate Investment Fund, LLC in preparing quarterly and year-end Fund financial statements. In this role, Ms. Fickel is responsible for reviewing financials prepared by third party management companies, maintaining and reconciling general ledgers, cash flow projections, lender compliance reporting, and preparing common area maintenance (CAM) reconciliations. Ms. Fickel brings 4 years of property accounting experience to Intercontinental. Prior to joining Intercontinental in 2023, Ms. Fickel worked as Property Accountant at Boston Investments Inc. a high-end rental housing and luxury condo development. Ms. Fickel oversaw the financial operations of their residential real estate portfolio. In this role she was responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, monthly bank reconciliations, monthly financial statement preparation, review of capital expenses, annual budget preparation, and coordinating with auditors for their annual audit. Ms. Fickel earned a BS in Business Administration from Florida International University.

Issam Mahmoud

Issam Mahmoud is responsible for assisting the USREIF Fund Controllers as a Senior Property Accountant. In this role, Mr. Mahmoud is charged with oversight of 3 rd party Management companies and Joint Venture's financial statements. In addition, Mr. Mahmoud preparesinternal financial statements for Intercontinental's investments. Mr. Mahmoud brought over 15 years' of experience in Real Estate Accounting and Management to Intercontinental. Prior to joining Intercontinental in 2023, Mr. Mahmoud worked as a Senior Property Accountant at Lincoln Property Company where he was responsible for two REIT portfolios by reviewing and preparing financial statements. Mr. Mahmoud is a CPA candidate and a member of California Board of Accountancy. He graduated from American Intercontinental University in California where he received his MBA in Finance and Accounting. He also holds a Masters in Project Management from DeVry University in California.

Jack Beloff

Jack Beloff, Associate Director, Institutional Services, assists in developing and servicing both client and consultant relationships for Intercontinental. Before joining the Intercontinental team, Jack previously worked at State Street Bank as well as Segal Marco Advisors and most recently assisted in developing a platform for unions to use as a portal for exclusive benefits, rewards and offerings for their members. Additionally, Jack enjoyed a career in film and television on both the agency side, working at WME, as well as the production side. Jack graduated from the University of Kansas in 2015 majoring in American History and minoring in Film & Media Studies.

Jazmin Tabares

Ms. Tabares is responsible for assisting the Fund Controller for U.S. Real Estate Investment Fund, LLC in preparing quarterly and year-end Fund Financial Statements. In this role, Ms. Tabares is responsible for maintaining and reconciling general ledgers; conducting routine internal audits; and acting as a liaison between third party independent auditors. Prior to joining Intercontinental in 2009, Ms. Tabares worked as an Internal Auditor for Accume Partners based in Boston, MA. In this role, she conducted operational, finance and compliance audits for community and regional banks located in the US New England Area. Previously, Ms. Tabares worked as a Property Accountant for Colliers Meredith & Grew, Inc., where she was responsible for preparing monthly statements for a number of commercial and residential properties in addition to assisting property managers with the preparation of annual budgets and year end operating expense reconciliations. Ms. Tabares has also held positions at H&R Block, and Hacienda Realty. Ms. Tabares was commissioned as a 2LT from the Officer Candidate School at Fort Benning, GA in 2012 and currently works as a Human Resources Officer for an Infantry Battalion in the MA National Guard. Ms. Tabares earned both her BS in Business Administration and her MS in Accounting from Northeastern University. She is also a licensed Real Estate Salesperson in Massachusetts.

Jenna Coates

Jenna Coates assists with the calculation of the funds' property-level and investor-level returns to track performance against industry standard benchmarks. This includes Net Asset Value calculation and both Time Weighted and Money Weighted returns. Ms. Coates also works closely with the Institutional Services, Asset Management, and Accounting groups to manage and streamline all internal quarterly financial reporting, which includes property-level financials, fund statistics, attribution, and market updates. Ms. Coates provides investor specific performance for pitches and manages investor audit confirmations. Prior to joining Intercontinental in 2016, Ms. Coates worked for Bank of New York Mellon as a Senior Performance Analyst. In this role, she was responsible for providing high quality monthly performance, attribution, and risk statistics services to external domestic clients. This included maintaining complicated and custom benchmarks, detailed performance reports, and reconciliations with portfolio managers. Her experience at the Bank extended to Global Income and Tax and client reconciliations. Ms. Coates was a Varsity ice hockey player at St. Anselm College where she earned her BA in Criminal Justice and Forensic Science. She also earned her MBA in Finance from Endicott College, Van Loan School of Business.

Jessica Levin

Ms. Levin works in Intercontinental's West Coast Office located in Los Angeles. Ms. Levin is responsible for acquisition opportunities for Intercontinental sponsored funds with a primary focus on the Western United States. In this role, she is responsible for opportunity identification and transaction execution. She oversees the solicitation, analysis, underwriting and negotiation of all real estate acquisitions and is a member of the Intercontinental Investment Committee and Senior Management Committee. Ms. Levin has been in the real estate industry since 2000 and has transaction experience of $9 billion. Ms. Levin has experience in acquisitions, dispositions and asset management as well as development. Prior to joining Intercontinental in 2007, Ms. Levin worked in Acquisitions at Colony Realty Partners in Los Angeles. In this role, she underwrote acquisitions totaling over 1.5 million square feet of both office and industrial product on the West Coast. Ms. Levin managed and coordinated all aspects of the due diligence process; data collection; and organization and analysis of potential property acquisitions. Previously, Ms. Levin held positions at Arden Realty, Jones Lang LaSalle and Archon Group. Ms. Levin has been featured as a California Deal Maker in the California Real Estate Journal's Annual Deal maker's Issue, in Real Estate Forum's Next Generation of Leaders, twice in the Women of Influence issue of Real Estate Southern California and in Real Estate Forum's 40 Under 40 Issue. Ms. Levin earned her BA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Jimmy Beloff

Prior to joining Intercontinental in 2014, Mr. Beloff worked as a marketer, client service contact, and consultant to institutional asset management firms, primarily in the Taft Hartley and Public Fund sector. Mr. Beloff volunteers for a number of charities around the country. Mr. Beloff earned his degree in English with a minor in Philosophy from the University of North Dakota.

Joe Engelmann

Mr. Engelmann brings ten years of property accounting experience to Intercontinental. Prior to joining Intercontinental in 2022, Mr. Engelmann worked as an Accounting Manager at Audubon Capital Partners. Mr. Engelmann oversaw the financial operations of their residential real estate portfolio. In this role he was responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, monthly bank reconciliations, monthly financial statement preparation, review of capital expenses, annual budget preparation, and coordinating with auditors for their annual audit. Mr. Engelmann earned a BS in Accounting from Bentley University.

Jorge Molina

Mr. Molina is responsible for managing all matters pertaining to the Accounts Payable Department. Oversees all AP Internal controls and procedures. He implements and maintains the Payscan electronic invoice system, handles all check disbursements, resolves vendor issues, and provides accounting assistance to the Asset Management and Accounting Department. Prior to joining Intercontinental, Mr. Molina worked at Boston Properties as an Accounts Payable Coordinator. He was responsible for administering the accounts payable system, posting invoices and statements, and preparing and processing payments. Mr. Molina worked as a Senior Telecommunication Specialist at HQ Global Workplaces, Inc., the world's largest provider of outsourced workplaces. He was responsible for overseeing the maintenance of networks and telephone/voicemail systems. Mr. Molina holds a business certificate in Bookkeeping & Accounting and is currently working towards his B.A in Business Management with a concentration in Accounting at Umass Amherst.

Joseph A. Sweeney

In addition, he is an active participant with the acquisitions group in the underwriting process for new out of state investments and developments. Mr. Sweeney is an active member of ICSC, BOMA and NAREIM. Prior to joining Intercontinental in 2005, Mr. Sweeney worked at Copley Real Estate Advisors and AEW Capital Management, L.P. where he was an asset manager responsible for a $184 million portfolio of office, industrial and R&D properties totaling 2.4 million square feet. Mr. Sweeney has significant experience working with partners, negotiating and structuring joint venture agreements and dispositions. He is an active coach in several local youth organizations as well as an annual participant in the Pan Mass Challenge, a cycling event which raises funds to discover cures for all types of cancer. Mr. Sweeney holds a BA in economics from Harvard University and an MBA from the F.W. Olin School of Management at Babson College.

Ms. Chien is a Certified Public Accountant and graduated from University of Georgia where she received a BBA in Accounting.

Kate Powers

Kristin Phalen

Mrs. Phalen graduated from Bucknell University with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, and was a member of the women's golf team.

Lauren Falcone

Prior to her role as Portfolio Analyst, Ms. Falcone was an Assistant Asset Manager at the firm actively working on Intercontinental's national portfolio of commercial office, retail, industrials, and residential properties. Her responsibilities included: reviewing monthly reports submitted by third party managers; writing and reviewing management reports; performing valuation analyses of leases and projects; reviewing and analyzing operating budgets; and administering leases. In addition, Ms. Falcone also assisted in the acquisition process for new out-of-state investments. Ms. Falcone holds an MBA from the F.W. Olin School of Management at Babson College. She received her undergraduate degree from Syracuse University.

Leon Palandjian - Chief Risk Officer

In addition, he provides oversight of capital market activities relating to the Intercontinental Real Estate Collective Investment Trust. Dr. Palandjian is a member of Intercontinental's Senior Management Committee, Investment Committee, ESG Committee and Risk Committee. Dr. Palandjian's experience spans real estate, the life sciences, and public and private equity. Prior to assuming his current role, he served as Manager of Intercontinental Capital Management LLC's fund-of-funds portfolio starting in 2007. From 2000-2007, he invested in life sciences companies, first as a Principal at Flagship Ventures (2000-2003), then as a Portfolio Manager at Andesite LLC, a long/short equity hedge fund focused on the life science sector (2003-2006). Dr. Palandjian serves as a trustee of the Mount Auburn Hospital (since 2003), and as a Director of the Cambridge Trust Company (since 2006). Dr. Palandjian received a BA in economics from Harvard College (1991), an MD degree from Harvard Medical School (2000), and is a CFA charterholder.

Matthew Flotta

Before joining Intercontinental, Mr. Flotta worked as a General Manager for CB Richard Ellis - New England. In this capacity, Mr. Flotta worked directly with clients such as Beacon Capital Partners and TIAA-CREF. Previously, Mr. Flotta worked as a Vice-President for Keller/Davis Company, where he oversaw both the fiscal and operational management of real estate asset throughout the greater Boston area. Mr. Flotta holds an MBA from the F.W. Olin School of Management at Babson College graduating summa cum laude. He is also an active participant in his community volunteering for high school sports programs and fundraising. Matthew Harrington

Ms. Yi also supports the Director of Finance, Fund Controllers and Asset Management Teams to make executive financial decisions for the organization on an ad-hoc basis. Prior to her new role, Ms. Yi was the designated Senior Property Accountant for Intercontinental Real Estate Investment Fund III, LLC (IREIF III), assisting the Fund Controller in preparing year-end fund reporting for third party audits and tax returns, maintaining and reconciling general ledgers and financial reports. Prior to joining Intercontinental, Ms. Yi was a Senior Property Accountant at CB Richard Ellis / NE Partner where she was responsible for analyzing monthly and quarterly GAAP financial statement packages for over 800,000 square feet of third party commercial properties. She monitored leasing status and ensured all operational, security deposits, and TI allowance charges were applied appropriately. Previously, Ms. Yi was a Property Accountant at Boston Properties, Inc. where she was responsible for auditing and preparing GAAP financial statements, and oversaw monthly tenant rental and additional charges. Maya Kasangaki

Her projects included the upgrade of Voyager 6.0 to 7S, YardiOne Implementation, and MRI to Yardi Voyager data conversion - all projects focused on improving internal property management efficiencies. Ms. Kasangaki has 16 years of experience as a Yardi user, with 8 years of hands-on, on-site Yardi experience in leasing as well as community, multi-site manager roles. Michael F. Keyes

Mr. Gray also works to install and administer Avaya Telephone systems, ActiveSync Management, Ricoh MFD Printers, Hardware/Software desktop support, Active Directory Management, and Exchange 2010 and 2013. Prior to joining Intercontinental, Michael Gray spent 14 years working for Fidelity Investments, Managing and supporting their Global Messaging and Directory infrastructure. Mr. Gray was responsible the ongoing maintenance and stability of the infrastructure, Disaster Recovery of all sites and servers, Security, as well as implemented ITIL Best Practices, used for managing the Messaging IT environment. Mr. Gray also directed a Global Team of Engineers, including engineers from the US, Europe and the Far East. Mr. Gray also spent 3 years in the US Army as a Medic, spending one year in South Korea and earned distinguished honors, receiving the "Army Achievement Medal" and "Expert Field Medical Badge" during his 3 years of Service. Mr. Gray holds certifications for Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) as well as Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) from Microsoft Corporation.

Michael Mackie - CTO

Mr. Mackie is responsible for implementing, managing, and monitoring the Enterprise-wide Windows Infrastructure for Intercontinental. In this role, he provides network security for local and wide-area networks, and assists the Chief Compliance Officer in maintaining and updating electronic records to meet all SEC requirements. Mr. Mackie also works with all third party service providers to identify and implement methods of improving business performance through technology. Mr. Mackie is a member of Intercontinental's Senior Management Committee and Risk Committee. Prior to joining Intercontinental in 2006, Mr. Mackie worked as the Director of Technology at BarNet Consulting, a Boston-based company providing advanced technical support to over forty corporate customers throughout the region. While at BarNet, he provided all of Intercontinental's technology-related consulting services. Previously, he worked at CVM Consulting where he worked in partnership with clients to overcome business challenges through the application of technology. Mr. Mackie has completed twenty years of service in both the U.S. Army and U.S. Army Reserve Command and has completed the U.S. Army Advanced Non-Commissioned Officers Course. He is a Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) and earned his BS in Economics from University of New Hampshire.

Michael Weatherington

Mr. Weatherington is responsible for end user support, virtual private network, local area network troubleshooting, mobile device management, maintenance and configurations to new computer hardware. In this role, he assists with the onboarding of new Intercontinental employees and is responsible for configuring and deploying iOS devices. Michael maintains inventory of all IoT equipment, software, and performs problem-solving sessions through use of remote connection and installation tools. Furthermore, Mr. Weatherington also works to keep employees' devices secure and up-to-date with the latest security updates and software. Prior to joining Intercontinental in 2023, Mr. Weatherington worked in the IT department at Checkwriters Inc., a company specializing in Payroll & HR services and software. Previously he worked at Vector Security Networks Inc., where he provided IT support for the company's headquarters. Mr. Weatherington holds certifications for Microsoft Azure Fundamentals as well as Google IT Support Professional.

Nick Celata

In this role, Mr. Celata is responsible for reviewing financials prepared by third party management companies, maintaining and reconciling general ledgers, lender compliance reports, cash flow and distribution projections, and preparing common area maintenance (CAM) reconciliations. Prior to joining Intercontinental in 2015, Mr. Celata worked as a Property Accountant at The Dolben Company. At Dolben, Mr. Celata accounted for a portfolio consisting of 12 properties. As part of his responsibilities, Mr. Celata prepared financial statements and supporting work papers, calculated distributions, and provided explanations for budget to actual variances. Mr. Celata earned a BBA in Accounting from The University of Massachusetts Boston.

Nicole Griffin

Ms. Griffin works on a national portfolio comprised of multifamily, commercial and industrial assets with a main focus on multifamily in Seattle, WA and Hoboken, New Jersey. Her responsibilities include but not limited to monitoring portfolio operations, overseeing capital expenditures and deferred maintenance projects, reviewing monthly reports submitted by third party managers, reviewing and analyzing quarterly appraisals, reforecasts and annual business plans. Additionally, she also assists in the due diligence process for new investments and works collaboratively with Portfolio Management on fund level projects. Prior to joining the asset management team at Intercontinental, Ms. Griffin worked in the management office at Ten Faxon, one of Intercontinental's residential assets in Quincy, Massachusetts. Ms. Griffin is a graduate of Quincy College and received a Certificate in Real Estate Finance from Boston University.

Olga Dratelis

Mrs. Dratelis is responsible for assisting the U.S. Real Estate Investment Fund Controller in preparing quarterly and year-end Fund financial statements. Mrs. Dratelis assists in the preparation and completion of annual Fund audits as well as handling the day-to-day accounting for the U.S. Real Estate Investment Fund. Prior to joining Intercontinental in 2018, Mrs. Dratelis was a Senior Accountant with AEW Capital Management at the Core Property Trust, where she was responsible for reviewing monthly accounting reports, quarterly performance cards, annual CAM reconciliations and annual budgets. In addition, she supported the sales and acquisitions by performing due diligence on accounting side and by preparing and reviewing closing prorations and settlement statements. Mrs. Dratelis helped with quarterly and annual Fund financial statements as well as assisted with investor reporting. Prior to that Mrs. Dratelis was a Senior Auditor at Ernst & Young, where her main clients were a global private equity firm, HarbourVest, and a large mutual fund, Pioneer Investments. Mrs. Dratelis earned her BBA in Accounting from the University of Massachusetts, Isenberg School of Management and graduated Summa Cum Laude. She is a Certified Public Accountant in Massachusetts since 2011.

Pat O'Connor

Mr. O'Connor is involved in the process from conception and due diligence through completion of construction. Mr. O'Connor interfaces with the lending institution and local authorities throughout the project. Mr. O'Connor has been with Intercontinental since 1983. He is a member of the Construction Management Association of America. Mr. O'Connor is a licensed construction supervisor in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and a licensed builder in the City of Boston.

Paul J. Nasser - President

As President of Intercontinental, he is a member of the Senior Management Committee, Investment Committee, Technology Committee, Valuation Committee, and oversees Performance Reporting, Investor Relations, Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, Technology and Administration. Prior to joining Intercontinental in 2000, Paul Nasser was Senior Vice President and Team Leader in Fleet's Real Estate Finance Group handling a real estate portfolio of over $1 billion. In this capacity, Mr. Nasser managed construction and acquisition loans, private placements, mezzanine debt, retail real estate, REITs and residential real estate development. Before joining Fleet in 1991, he held various senior management positions in the banking industry. Active in many civic and charitable organizations, Mr. Nasser is on the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Chapter of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP) and is on the Board of Trustees for Tufts Medical Center, Boston MA. Reggie Charles

Prior to joining Intercontinental in 2017, Mr. Charles was a Property Accountant at Boston Properties, where he prepared financial statements, budget to actuals variances, performed straight line rent analysis, cash flow projections on joint ventures, debt compliance on complex loan agreements, tenant audits, prepared tax forms to determine assessed values on properties for real estate taxes, annual business plans, assisted with annual budgets, and prepared common area maintenance (CAM) reconciliations. Previously, Mr. Charles performed audits for pension plans, real estate companies and not-for-profits along with tax planning/preparation for a small public accounting firm and a regional firm in Boston. Mr. Charles earned a BS in Accounting from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and his MBA from Curry College.

Robert Tarr

Prior to joining Intercontinental in 2018, Mr. Tarr worked as a Financial Analyst at WinnResidential where they specialized in the management of affordable multifamily assets. At Winn, Mr. Tarr oversaw a portfolio consisting of 24 properties in the Mid-Atlantic and New England regions. As part of his responsibilities, Mr. Tarr was responsible for the preparation of annual budgets, monthly financial reviews and forecasting, and communicating important findings and recommending actions to management. Mr. Tarr holds a BS in Economics and Finance from Bentley University.

Ross Karetsky

Mr. Karetsky works in Intercontinental's West Coast Office located in Los Angeles. He works on both the acquisition and asset management of Intercontinental's real estate holdings throughout the Western United States, including office, residential, industrial and retail assets. Mr. Karetsky assists with the sourcing, analysis, due diligence, and closing of potential acquisitions and development projects and additionally helps implement each asset's business plan with regard to capital improvement projects, leasing, and overall property operations. Prior to joining Intercontinental in 2020, Mr. Karetsky worked at Rialto Capital Management in Los Angeles, investing in value-add and opportunistic office, retail, and multifamily properties across the Western United States. Mr. Karetsky earned his B.S. in Finance from Lehigh University, graduating with honors from the College of Business. He is a member of the Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles's Real Estate and Construction Cabinet.

Ross Vaillancourt

Samantha Simon

Sandra DiSarro

Prior to joining the Intercontinental team in 2004, Ms. DiSarro was with New England Development, where she worked as a paralegal within their in-house Legal Department. Ms. DiSarro has been a licensed real estate salesperson since 2003.

Scott Kelly

Scott Kelly is primarily responsible for the asset management for several of Intercontinental's Real estate holdings in the Northeast with his primary focus being in the office, industrial, and senior living sectors of the marketplace. He oversees the day to day operations of the assets, develops and maintains the operating budgets, fosters and maintains tenant relationships and monitors the market to evaluate short and long term trends in the industry. In addition, he is actively involved with the acquisitions group in the underwriting process for potential new investments. Prior to joining Intercontinental, Mr. Kelly spent two years at Gilbane Building Company as a Project Accountant, where he was responsible for job cost reports for the various projects he was working on, maintaining the purchase orders and subcontract files as well as handling the receipt of all office materials, services and equipment. Mr. Kelly is a graduate of Providence College, where he earned a BS in Management.

Steven M. Centrella

Mr. Centrella has held various positions with other institutional real estate advisors. He was a senior investment officer at Lend Lease Real Estate Investments, a vice president in the Capital Markets Group at AEW Capital Management (f/k/a Aldrich, Eastman, & Waltch), and Vice President of Fleet Financial Group, Inc./Recoll Management. Mr. Centrella earned his BS from Lake Forest College. Thomas Ball

Thomas R. Taranto - Chief Investment Officer

Thomas R. Taranto, Jr. is the Chief Investment Officer and is a member of Intercontinental's Executive and Investment Committees. He is also responsible for managing joint venture relations and a member of Intercontinental's Senior Management Committee. Mr. Taranto joined Intercontinental in 1984 and currently directs a staff of over 30 acquisition, portfolio and asset/property managers. In addition, he oversees the commercial, residential and leasing departments and is responsible for approving the annual budget and business plan for each asset. Mr. Taranto also develops and implements all new operating procedures for Intercontinental's affiliated holdings. Tim Nash

Mr. Nash has over 20 years of professional experience serving clients in the investment management and investment consulting industry. Prior to joining Intercontinental, Mr. Nash was a Senior Consultant serving the needs of institutional clients for 13 years with AndCo Consulting, LLC. Tim provided general consulting services with responsibility for investment policy development, asset allocation modeling, investment manager evaluation and selection, and performance monitoring for clients. Mr. Nash began his career at STI Capital Management. His primary roles were Client Portfolio Manager and Director of Public Funds serving the institutional investment management needs of a diverse client base. Tracy Stewart

Victoria Johnson

William Bonina

Mr. Bonina is responsible for assisting the IBREIF and USREIF Fund Controllers in preparing quarterly and year-end Fund financial statements as well as assisting in supervision of the property accountants. Prior to joining Intercontinental, Mr. Bonina was a Senior Accountant with Hospitality Properties Trust, where he was responsible for the accounting activities of 189 hotels. Previously, Mr. Bonina was a Senior Property Accountant for over ten years at Hines, a national real estate development firm headquartered in Houston, Texas. At Hines, Mr. Bonina performed all accounting activities for two mixed-use buildings with over 1 million square feet of net rentable space. Mr. Bonina earned a B.S. in Accounting from Fitchburg State University.

Yvonne Deng

Zach Howland
