IVODGA's mission is to foster the safe handling of dangerous goods, and to offer the expertise of the ocean carriers in forging regulatory development. IVODGA is an active participant and has consultative status at the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and the UN Sub-Committee of Experts (UNSCOE) on the Transport of Dangerous Goods. IVODGA actively comments on proposed regulations and is in frequent contact with the US Department of Transportation's Pipeline Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA), the US Coast Guard, Transport Canada and other government agencies... IVODGA's highly skilled, efficient and congenial staff is available to personally answer member's questions regarding ocean borne container traffic of dangerous goods. We are a member-responsive industry association that consistently strives to achieve total member satisfaction...
