Andrew Hyland, Ph.D., is the Chair of the Department of Health Behavior at Roswell Park Cancer Institute, he directs the New York State Smokers Quitline and has contracts with the New York State Department of Health to work with community and clinical stakeholders to advance their tobacco control work plan. He holds a Ph.D. in Epidemiology and a M.A. in Statistics from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Dr. Hyland specializes in the evaluation of tobacco policies, cancer and tobacco surveillance, and biostatistical support while his research focuses on primary prevention and providing an evidence base to inform population-based tobacco regulations that serve to reduce the disease burden caused by tobacco. He oversees both service and research efforts that are focused on moving populations to reduce their cancer risk, particularly through evidence-based policy implementation such as smoke-free air policies and tobacco product regulation. He is the principal investigator on numerous peer reviewed grants and contracts. Dr. Hyland is the scientific leader of the Population Assessment of Tobacco and Health study (PATH), which is supported by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) and the Food and Drug Administration(FDA) to study nearly 46,000 adults and children nationally over a 14-year period to understand changes in tobacco behaviors and health. He is the Principal Investigator of the ITC Four Country Smoking and Vaping-US Waves 4-6 Surveys.

Dr Amer Siddiq is an Associate Professor, consultant psychiatrist and smoking cessation specialist from the University of Malaya. He is the coordinator of the Nicotine Addiction Research Group of UMCAS and is the primary investigator for the Grand Challenge Grant (GC004-15HTM) investigating gaps and upscaling existing smoking cessation services in Malaysia. He is the technical and expert advisor to the Ministry of Health for policy documents including the Tobacco Control National Strategic Plan 2015-2020 and the mQuit Services project which is involved in strengthening the "O" of MPOWER. As part of his interest, he is involved with both local and international organizations in tobacco control and cessation primarily, and is an active communicator of his ideas on tobacco control in social, scientific and mass media in Malaysia and abroad.
