The Jaguar XK8 / R Steering wheels have a nice looking and classy half wood and leather combination. However with the age of this model many steering wheels are looking tired, worn and in need of refurbishment. Many owners have either replaced their seat covers or repaired and restored them but if the steering wheel is worn this will let the interior of the car down... * retrimming the leather on the steering wheel in the original Sable colour. It has been very hard to source new leather in the Sable colour but we now have it... If one day you see that oil has been leaking from the gearbox on your XKR 4.0 it is likely that this is from the in-line electrical connector on the front right hand corner of the transmission. This will be due to ‘O' ring failure. When doing this job I would also treat the gearbox to a filter and oil change if not done already. The image below shows the new replacement connector JLM21109 with O rings which were the cause of the leak on the old part.
