JOHNSON JEWELERS

Johnson Jewelers was founded by J.G. Johnson in 1898 in North Dakota. The dust bowl and depression had Mr. Johnson seeking new opportunities for his family. He found the perfect one while attending a Shrine convention in Seattle in 1936, when other jewelers at the convention told him the small town of Puyallup, Washington was in need of a jeweler and watch repair. Within months J.G. was opening the doors of his first store in downtown Puyallup, near the railroad and not too far from where the store stands today. In 1958, J.G. turned the store over to his son Walt, who continued the family tradition of service with integrity. In 1980, Walt, in turn, handed the reins over to his son Robert Johnson and Robert's wife Mary, making them the third generation to manage the family business. Today, Robert and Mary's daughter, Amy Johnson, makes the fourth generation of Johnsons who have devoted themselves to the craft of creating, designing, repairing and selling fine jewelry and watches...
