JET CONTAINER

Jet Container Company was founded in 1977 by Joe Schmitt in Columbus, Ohio. Joe had experience with multiple box manufacturers, including Corco and Consolidated Packaging, before he ventured out on his own. He started Jet with 4 employees and began by selling boxes out of his car before finally moving into the company's first building on West State Street. In 1984, he moved the operation to South High Street, and that location served as the company's headquarters for over 35 years. In 1987, Joe's oldest son, Mike, joined the company as a Sales Representative. A few years later, Steve Schmitt followed in his brother Mike's footsteps, joining the company initially in Customer Service in 1989 and then transferred to a Sales Representative shortly after. For 12 years, the 2 brothers worked side-by-side with their father learning the right way to operate the business.
