Will Walton

Job Titles:
  • Kenai Attorney
Will was raised in a rural, agricultural portion of Texas, and went on to study Agriculture and Business at Stephen F. Austin State University, earning a bachelors degree in Agribusiness, with Honors, in 1998. After working for an international automotive manufacturer and another national automotive corporation, Will turned his attention and dedication to the law. Will attended Southern Methodist University's Deadman School of Law, earning his Doctor of Jurisprudence, again with Honors in 2003. During his time at SMU, Will was a member and articles editor for the SMU Law Review. He also worked as a teaching assistant and tutor for legal writing and contracts, as well as successfully engaging in their advocacy program.During his time in law school, Will was fortunate to work for one of the areas more recognized and successful personal injury lawyers, focusing in wrongful death and medical malpractice cases. By graduation, Will had already joined the firm of Hartline, Dacus Barger, Dryer & Kern, LLP, in their Dallas office, with a practice focused in personal injury and commercial litigation. Will made the simple mistake, however, of visiting Alaska after the Texas Bar Exam in 2003 and fell in love with the State. Ultimately, Will made the difficult but great decision to leave a successful firm and practice in Dallas make Alaska his home. In January 2006, Will left the big-city law firm life and moved to Kenai after accepting an appointment as an Assistant District Attorney. Although successful in this endeavor, Will realized his true passion was representing people, not the State or large corporations. Will now dedicates his efforts to individual clients, whether faced with injury, criminal charges or family issues. Through his practice, Will brings a broad base of legal expertise to the firm. Before relocating to Alaska, he represented large corporate clients in complex, multi-million dollar cases ranging from commercial disputes to personal injury matters. Upon entering Alaska, Will immediately built upon his trial experience as an Assistant District Attorney for the State of Alaska Department of Law. Since re-entering private practice, Will has successfully devoted his efforts on obtaining successful results for individual clients faced with legal crisis. To see what past clients and other lawyers have said about Will and his efforts, please see his profile, client reviews and peer endorsements at Avvo.com. Will has a recognized presence and skill set well suited to his area of practice. Here are what two Alaskan lawyers outside our firm have to say about Will. "Will Walton is an excellent lawyer. I have known Will for many years, and personally seen his abilities in the courtroom. Because of his down-to-earth, straight forward personality, Will has a unique ability to relate to juries and judges. Will knows the lay of the land in the Kenai legal community, and judges trust him. Most importantly, Will cares for his clients and works hard to achieve their goals." "Having worked both sides of the courtroom, Will has a knack for what works, and how to get things done. It is rare to find a lawyer with Will's combination of brilliance and down to earth personality. He is a zealous advocate who cares deeply for his clients. He's my first choice for referral of cases on the Kenai Peninsula."
