KJ DOORS

In 1983, Ken Dietterich saw the need for a local garage door company and founded K.J. Door Services. With a used truck he began selling and repairing residential garage doors and openers. He started the business on his home property, in Woxall, using a laundry room for an office, and constructing a receiving warehouse from used garage door sections. The business began to grow, and he moved office operations to his basement. In 1994, the business was still growing, and he then had five employees. Ken built a garage with an upstairs office, but the delivery trucks in and out of the driveway were getting to be too much. K.J. Doors rented a barn in Harleysville for a warehouse, while keeping the office in Woxall. That worked for a few years, but the paperwork was never at the correct location. Ken needed a location where the warehouse and office could be together. In 1998, K.J. Doors purchased the current location on Route 113 in Franconia Township.
