Ben Goldin

Ben is responsible for executing transactions, due diligence and financial analysis, and portfolio management. Prior to joining KLH, Ben interned with Graham Partners and Milestone Partners, both middle market private equity firms. Ben graduated from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and earned a double concentration in Finance and Management.

Brad Gates - CEO, President

Brad works with KLH's portfolio companies to evaluate, develop and execute growth strategies that deliver measurable results. He also serves as a resource for the portfolio companies to execute special projects, such as sales strategy, pricing initiatives, sales and marketing optimization, geographic expansion, product management, commercial positioning, acquisitions, and overall strategic planning support. Brad has over 20 years of experience managing P&L's, including multinational environments where he lived and held executive positions on three separate continents. He has extensive experience optimizing sales teams and commercialization efforts to drive rapid expansion. Brad has served as President and CEO for several private equity sponsored companies ranging from Capital Safety EMEA, Nautic Global Group, Pure Safety Group and Structural Concepts. Brad graduated from Concordia University, St. Paul, MN, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing and a Master's in Organizational Management. He resides in Indian Rocks Beach, FL, and Alexandria, MN, with his wife, Angie, where he enjoys being near the water spending time with family and friends.

Chal Smiley

Chal is responsible for executing transactions, due diligence and financial analysis, and portfolio management. He started his career at Crestline Investors, a credit-focused alternative investment firm based in Fort Worth, Texas, before moving to Main Street Capital Corporation in Houston, Texas. At Main Street, Chal held positions ranging from Associate to Director. Most recently, he has served as the Co-Founder and CEO of RDY. Chal is a CFA Charterholder, and graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science in Finance and minor in Economics.

Chris Reinhart

Chris is responsible for executing transactions, due diligence and financial analysis, and portfolio management. Prior to joining KLH, Chris held Analyst and Associate positions at Cappello Global and TFA Capital Partners, investment banks in Greater Los Angeles. Chris is a Tampa native and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from the University of Notre Dame and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business.

David Buckel

David works with KLH's portfolio companies to evaluate, develop, and execute operational strategies that deliver continuous improvement and measurable results. He also serves as a resource for the portfolio companies to execute special projects, such as acquisition integration, geographic expansion, process improvement, and even key employee recruitment. David has over 25 years of leadership experience ranging from start-up ventures to public companies both globally and domestically across various industries. David has extensive experience creating accounting and control systems and processes, corporate strategizing, managing growth expansion, and integrating acquisitions, specifically, from a systems perspective. He has served in executive positions for several private equity sponsored companies ranging from N3 Results in Atlanta, Georgia to Applied Theory Communications in Syracuse, New York. Most recently, David was CFO/CPO at Data Intensity. Prior to that, he served as President and Managing Director for BVI Venture Services. David graduated from Canisius College with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and received his Master of Business Administration in Operations Management and Finance from Syracuse University.

James Darnell - CEO

James is responsible for all of the firm's investment activities and is responsible for the operations of the firm. He is a member of the KLH Investment Committee, serves on the board of directors for a number of KLH portfolio companies and is directly responsible for overseeing Thorpe Specialty Services, The Warehouse Rentals & Supplies, I&I Soft Craft Solutions, Frankston Packaging, and BMI Merchandise. Before joining KLH, he served as CFO and interim CEO at Recovery Holdings, LLC and as a Senior Associate with Founders Investment Banking. James graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and a minor in Economics.

John Moore - CCO, CFO

John is primarily responsible for managing all of KLH's compliance and accounting activities. Prior to joining KLH, John served as the CFO and CCO of AUA Private Equity Partners, LLC, a lower middle market private equity firm targeting companies within the consumer products and services sectors. John is a seasoned finance professional, and has managed the delivery of administration services, among other finance functions at a variety of companies throughout his career. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Davidson College and a M.B.A. from the University of Rochester.

Kevin O'Brien

Kevin is responsible for executing transactions, due diligence and financial analysis, and portfolio management. Prior to joining KLH, he held an Associate position at William Blair as part of the investment bank's Aerospace, Defense & Government Services coverage group executing M&A and capital raise transactions. Kevin is a Montana native and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Systems Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point and a Master of Science in Finance from the University of Notre Dame's Mendoza College of Business.

Kyle Madden

Kyle leads the firm's business development efforts. He is primarily responsible for identifying investment opportunities, including initial financial, operating, and competitive analysis of businesses. He is a member of the KLH Investment Committee and serves on the board of directors for BMI Merchandise. Prior to joining KLH in 2009, Kyle was involved in a variety of brokerage-related capacities within the insurance industry. An active member of the industry, he served on the board of directors of the M&A Source and was the 2013 chairman of the Alliance of Merger & Acquisition Advisors (AM&AA). He graduated from the University of Tampa's John H. Sykes College of Business with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance.

Michael Nauton - VP

Michael works with KLH's portfolio companies to evaluate, develop and execute operational strategies that deliver continuous improvement and measurable results. He also serves as a resource to the portfolio companies for special projects focused on operationalizing data and technology, such as system solutions and operational analytics for utilization, efficiency and productivity. Michael has over 17 years of leadership experience in the field of operations, supply chain and field services, and has ran operations nationally at one of the largest self-perform field services companies, overseeing more than 300 field crews across the US and $700 million in P&L responsibility. Michael most recently served as Senior Vice President of Operations, Supply Chain and Project Management at Velex in Frisco, TX, where he started in 2013 as a field technician. Michael resides in Annapolis, MD, with his wife and three children, and enjoys exploring new technologies and ideas and landscaping projects around his wooded property.

Nancy Wall

Nancy has been with KLH's founding principals for over 20 years in her current capacity. She is responsible for all office and administrative functions for the firm.

Nick Arledge

Nick is responsible for executing transactions, due diligence and financial analysis, and portfolio management. Prior to joining KLH, Nick interned with Ally Financial's analytics team and Bank of America's global banking and markets division. Nick graduated from Clemson University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematical Sciences and earned a Masters of Science in Commerce under the Finance track from the University of Virginia's McIntire School of Commerce.

Richard Kelecy

Richard works with KLH's portfolio companies to translate strategy, budgets and forecasts into detailed execution plans, coordinating at all levels to help secure and grow company performance. He has over 40 years of broad financial, industry and operational experience. Richard has worked with companies of various scopes and sizes, from $15 million private family owned companies, to $1.2 billion publicly traded companies. Richard has held CFO positions since 1990 and was CFO for a publicly held, complex environmental / nuclear treatment company for 14 years. He has extensive experience driving double digit growth during his tenure and has worked alongside KLH since 2011 on a number of transactions, including CFO of Qualawash and more recently COO and CEO of Ground Works Solutions. Richard graduated from Westminster College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting and Business Administration.

Rick Kerrigan

He also serves as a resource for the portfolio companies to execute special projects, such as acquisition integration, geographic expansion, process improvement, as well as key employee recruitment. Rick has over 30 years of leadership experience in the fields of operations, supply chain, manufacturing, and distribution, and has run operations both globally and domestically across various industries. He has served in executive positions for several private equity sponsored companies ranging from a $90 million logistics company to Formica Corporation, an $800 million laminate manufacturer. Most recently, Rick was Vice President of Operations and Supply Chain for Sterling Site Access Solutions in Chicago, IL. Prior to that, he served as Senior Vice President of Operations and Supply Chain for Floworks International in Houston, TX. Rick graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration. He resides in Nashville with his wife, Debbi, and enjoys attending football games at Centre College where his son graduated and visiting his daughter who is attending Auburn University.

Ron Moore - VP

Ron is responsible for identifying investment opportunities, including initial financial, operating, and competitive analysis of businesses. Prior to joining KLH, Ron served as an Assistant Vice President at USAmeriBank, where his responsibilities included origination, analysis, and transaction execution on lower middle market senior loans. Ron graduated from Brown University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and earned a J.D. from Stetson College of Law.

Sean Gilmore - VP

He started his career as an Analyst in Atlanta at SunTrust Robinson Humphrey before spending five years with Accel-KKR, a technology-focused private equity firm headquartered in Menlo Park, California. Sean is a Tampa native with a B.S. and M.S. in finance from the University of Florida.

Tyler Hendry - VP

Tyler works closely with KLH's portfolio companies to drive value creation and support strategic initiatives such as add-on acquisitions, due diligence, contract negotiations, integration planning and execution, treasury and cash-management, insurance and risk management, financial reporting, forecasting and budgeting, and root-cause analysis. He also serves as a resource in connection with financial and accounting support for new deal evaluations. In his previous roles, Tyler has worked as a valuation specialist in Ernst & Young's valuation and business modeling practice where he worked with both private and public companies across a wide breadth of industries. He has served private equity funds including Z Capital and Invision Capital where he supported due-diligence processes for recapitalizations and asset-based cash flow loan underwritings as well as performed extensive financial and operational analysis for portfolio companies. Tyler holds a Master of Science in Accounting degree and a Bachelor of Science in Finance degree with a minor in Business Management from DePaul University Driehaus College of Business and is a CFA Charterholder.

Will Dowden - CEO

Will is involved in all aspects of the firm's investment activities including identifying, structuring and executing transactions. He serves on the board of directors for a number of KLH portfolio companies and is directly responsible for overseeing Jackson Infrastructure Services, ElectriCom, Shenandoah Industrial Solutions, and Apogee Lighting. Additionally, he is a member of the KLH Investment Committee and oversees investor relations for the firm. Will graduated from the University of Virginia's McIntire School of Commerce with a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce and minored in Aerospace Engineering.
