Robert Warren

Robert Warren is a Principal with KWL. He has over 30 years of experience in the Municipal Engineering fields in British Columbia and Australia. Robert has mainly concentrated his practice on municipalities and in particular the planning, detailed design and construction of infrastructure. Robert has been managing development of all engineering aspects for development of Dockside Green a large LEED platinum village complete with it's own sewer treatment plant that feeds a river through the development. Robert gives senior advice to numerous clients and KWL project managers. He manages the allocation of resources to make sure projects meet deadlines. Robert brings a strong focus on client needs and an open communication style to projects. Robin Parker

Robin Parker is a professional engineer who graduated from Civil Engineering at UBC where he specialized in hydrotechnical engineering. He also holds a diploma as a Civil Engineering Technologist. Robin has been focused on energy and industrial projects with major clients including Pacific Coast Terminals Co. Ltd., Elk Valley Coal, Western Canadian Coal, and Metro Vancouver. Robin was the design coordinator for the Kitasoo Band Hydro Generation Upgrade project. Ron Serné

Ron Serné is a Project Manager and a certified MMCD Contract Administrator. He has extensive experience as a Construction Superintendent and Resident Inspector in the fields of civil, mechanical and industrial construction. He also has experience with site surveys, quantity calculations, string surveys, sieve analysis, and quality control. Recently, Ron has managed trenchless technology projects, predominately cured in place pipe.

Rose Sinnott

Rose Sinnott joined KWL in 2009 and is experienced in analyzing and designing water systems including pump stations, valve stations, water mains, ground water wells, and reservoirs. Rose is adept with various hydraulic modelling and GIS software. Her responsibilities include developing hydraulic models to review existing flow data, forecast future demands, develop cost estimates and recommendations for system improvements. Education: B.A.Sc. Ryan Taylor

Ryan Taylor (GISP) has an Advanced Diploma in GIS from the British Columbia Institute of Technology as well as Bachelor's Degree in Geography from the University of Western Ontario. He joined KWL in 2008 after working for ESRI (creators of ArcGIS software) as an ArcGIS Server Analyst. Ryan's broad exposure to municipal GIS systems and experience with custom GIS application development make him a valuable asset to KWL. His recent work has focused on asset management implementation for local government as well as GIS-based energy planning studies in locations throughout the world. Shaun Hodgins

Since 2003, Shaun has successfully completed a wide range of infrastructure design and construction projects of various sizes throughout Western Canada.

Shona Robinson

Shona Robinson is a highly qualified environmental engineer with extensive experience in water supply and treatment. She is currently working at Kerr Wood Leidal, where she has been a part of the team since 2018. With a Ph.D. in environmental engineering, Shona is passionate about implementing environmental innovation and has a strong experimental background in environmental and green chemistry. Shona is an engaging oral communicator, having built her teaching skills teaching technical courses at both the undergraduate and graduate level; as a capable writer, she excels at distilling key ideas to bring objectives into focus. She also has extensive laboratory skills and experience in budgeting for business and research projects. Shona has served in various leadership roles outside of work, including chairing committees in academia and industry. She is currently a productive member of the BCWWA Drinking Water Committee and the co-chair of the 2023 BCWWA Annual Conference planning committee. In addition, Shona regularly contributes as a guest lecturer or panellist in local academic contexts. Otherwise, she can be found exploring the great outdoors and pursuing culinary experiments!

Siobhan Robinson

Siobhan Robinson leads KWL's Water Supply and Treatment sector. At KWL since 2014, she has broad-based water and wastewater engineering experience. Siobhan enjoys working with diverse teams and pursues opportunities to collaborate with other sectors within KWL. She has worked on and led projects ranging from water and wastewater treatment through civil site servicing to asset management. For the last 10 years, Siobhan's been a highly engaged member of the Association of Consulting Engineering Companies (ACEC). She served in various capacities, including Chair for the Provincial Young Professionals Group and National Young Professionals Network and Director of the ACEC-BC and ACEC-Canada Boards. Siobhan currently volunteers with the BCWWA as co-chair of the Drinking Water Technical Advisory Committee and a member of the Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action Task Force. In addition, she shares her story and passion for water engineering through Science World's Scientists and Innovators in the Schools program. Through her volunteer work, Siobhan works to improve the business environment for consulting engineers across the country and facilitates the engagement and retention of young professionals in consulting. In 2021 Siobhan was awarded the ACEC-BC Young Professionals Award, and in 2022 she was a co-winner of the Allen D. Williams Scholarship. Siobhan was also named a WXN 2015 Canada's Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Award Winner and, in 2017, received the BC Water and Waste Association (BCWWA) Service Award: Outstanding Contribution to the BCWWA - Young Professional Award. As a mother of two, Siobhan is passionate about making the world a better place for future generations. She believes in improving community health and well-being by developing water and wastewater infrastructure that balances human and environmental needs.

Stefan Joyce

Stefan Joyce is a hydrotechnical engineer with over 10 years of consulting experience in modelling and analysis, project management, design, and construction. He has managed or played a key role in a wide range of projects, including the award-winning GIS-based run-of-river Rapid Hydropower Assessment Model (RHAM), which assessed hydroelectric potential throughout British Columbia. His work encompasses hydrologic studies, flood hazard assessment, mitigation, and restoration, dam safety and decommissioning, and hydroelectric resource assessments, feasibility and design.

Stephen Mills

Stephen Mills is a Professional Engineer registered in British Columbia with 10 years of experience, primarily in the design and development of hydro projects. Steve was the Project Manager and Owner's Representative for design and construction of the Cypress Creek Hydroelectric Project. He had responsibility for design and tendering of all facilities. This included co-ordination of electrical, mechanical, geotechnical and structural work. As Owner's representative, Steve was responsible for contract administration, scheduling, co-ordination of contractors, permitting, contact with regulatory agencies and managing the construction inspection program. Other hydro projects Steve has been involved with include Patricia Creek, Tyson Creek, Skookum Creek, Atlin Hydro and Barr Creek projects. He has completed dozens of feasibility assessments for hydro projects and pumped storage projects within British Columbia and the Yukon. Steven Wells

Steven Wells is a graduate of the University of British Columbia in Cell Biology and Genetics. He has been with Kerr Wood Leidal since 2008. In that time, he has worked on a variety of different projects, but his main focus has been on regulatory compliance monitoring including industrial wastewater discharge, groundwater, surface water, and air. His time spent performing field work and experience in academic and industrial labs has given him a comprehensive understanding of the regulatory compliance monitoring process. He worked for over 80 clients including bulk terminals, municipalities, transit companies, food processing plants, fish processing plants, and various other industries. Education: B.Sc. Sumita Tayal

Sumita Tayal is the driving force behind KWL's people strategy. She joined KWL in 2016 as the Director of People & Culture with a diverse background spanning the public and private sectors. Sumita's expertise lies in building high-performance teams, fostering inclusive cultures, and creating an engaging work environment. As a purpose-driven, results-oriented, and strategically minded leader, Sumita understands the value of leveraging our greatest asset: our people. She holds a master's degree in human resources, is a Chartered Professional in Human Resources and is a member of the HR Committee of ACEC-BC. When she's not shaping our people strategy, Sumita enjoys being a devoted mom to her wonderful twins. Tabe Johnson

Tabe has been a Project Engineer at Kerr Wood Leidal Consulting Engineers since 2007, and during his time there, he has honed his skills in various areas of engineering. For the past decade, he has focused on remote data gathering and designing, deploying, and operating monitoring systems for physical infrastructure projects such as sewers, waterways, and more. In addition, Tabe works closely with clients and stakeholders to assess their needs and develop solutions that enable data collection relating to physical processes and events.

Ted Steele

Experience Ted Steele has over 40 years of broad-based water engineering experience, including detailed design for waterworks, wastewater, and drainage systems. He has extensive experience in pump and equipment selection, hydraulic design, transient analysis, and in developing the layout for treatment plants major pumping facilities. He has developed conceptual designs, capital plans, and assessed existing water supply and distribution infrastructure for many municipalities throughout British Columbia. Venkat Raman

Venkat Raman is a senior water treatment engineer with more than 25 years of experience in the application of water and wastewater treatment in Asia, Middle East, and North America. His experience is focused on providing treatment solutions for potable, industrial and wastewater applications. Venkat's expertise includes feasibility studies, preliminary and detailed design of water and wastewater treatment systems and associated infrastructure work. His experience includes detailed design of drinking water systems for municipalities, and the oil and mining industry.
