Brian Shaughnessy

Brian Shaughnessy has been developing websites in various capacities for over 12 years, since the early stages of html-based design to current database-driven dynamic sites, and has been working with print-based graphic design for over 13 years. For over 10 years, Brian worked with the Association Development Group, Inc., an Albany-based association management company where he served as account lead for several New York State-based organizations, including the New York Aviation Management Association, New York Public Transit Association, and Empire State Marine Trades Association. He was responsible for day-to-day communications, event management, public relations, membership development, legislative affairs, and various special projects. His experience working with not-for-profit professional and trade associations led him to find Joomla!, and later CiviCRM, as affordable, robust, and effective solutions for cost-conscious organizations. Through implementation of Joomla!+CiviCRM for trade associations, he has been able to provide an integrated, web-based, member management database solution that previously was only available for large, well-funded organizations. In July, 2007, Brian left his position to begin full-time web development/graphic design freelancing. Since then he has worked with numerous organizations and businesses, creating a professional, affordable, flexible, and extensible web presence for them. Brian lives with his wife and three children in Albany, NY. He is committed to several social causes, including the abolition of modern-day slavery and reduction of chronic homelessness in America.
