Barnes, Lindsey A.

Dr. Lindsey Barnes is a board-certified pulmonary and critical care physician at Fayetteville Diagnostic Clinic. Dr. Barnes was a hospitalist in Virginia before pursuing additional training to become a Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine specialist. She brings a strong background in research, teaching, and clinical care to the Fayetteville Diagnostic Clinic. In addition to providing expert pulmonary care to patients in the clinic, Dr. Barnes provides inpatient care at Washington Regional Medical Center. She serves as a consulting pulmonologist and active member of the Center for Chest Care, a multidisciplinary lung cancer care group that meets weekly to review cases and coordinate high-quality care to patients in Northwest Arkansas. A native of the Ozarks, Dr. Barnes is happy to be back in Northwest Arkansas after completing her medical training.

Birch, Scott W.

Dr. Scott Birch practices internal medicine, caring for adults at Fayetteville Diagnostic Clinic. An internal medicine doctor is a primary care doctor specializing in adult medicine and has had special training focusing on treating and preventing adult diseases. Dr. Birch is married to Dr. Candy Birch, an obstetrician and gynecologist, and they have three daughters. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, reading, running, and cycling. Dr. Karl Haws is doctor of osteopathy and provides comprehensive, compassionate care for children and adults at MANA Family Medicine, Thompson Street location in Springdale, Arkansas. Dr. Haws is a well-respected physician who has provided quality family and occupational medicine in Springdale for over 20 years with Cooper Family Medical Clinic. Dr. Haws joined Medical Associates of Northwest Arkansas on October 1, 2015. Dr. Haws and his wife have two children. He enjoys physical activities, including bicycling, hiking, and racquetball.

Dr. Stacy Furlow

Dr. Stacy Furlow joined MANA's Northwest Arkansas Pediatrics in August of 2000. Dr. Stacy Furlow was voted one of the Best Pediatricians by readers of AY Magazine in 2018. Dr. Furlow grew up in Fayetteville. She is married to an internal medicine physician, John Furlow, and they have four children. During her free time, she likes reading, cooking, gardening, photography, and attending Razorback baseball games. The Furlows are also active members of their church. "My favorite part of my job is getting to watch a child grow and develop from birth through college. I have many patients that I can still remember seeing in the nursery, and I get to follow along and see who that little person becomes. I recently had a set of triplets "graduate" from our office, and I had been seeing them since their mom came in for a prenatal visit. A few tears were shed that day!"

Gordon, Al Y.

Dr. Al Gordon is a family medicine physician with MANA Family Medicine and Medical Director of the graduate program in athletic training at the University of Arkansas. Dr. Gordon was voted "Top Family Practice Physician" by his colleagues in a survey conducted by Arkansas Life Magazine and "Best Primary Care Physician" in Northwest Arkansas by the general public in Citiscapes Magazine. Dr. Gordon served as the Head Team Physician for the University of Arkansas Department of Athletics for 30 years and was honored as the Southeastern Conference Team Physician of the Year in 2012. In addition to continuing to care for Razorback Athletes, Dr. Gordon is the Medical Director for the graduate program in Athletic Training at the University of Arkansas. Dr. Gordon is currently serving as the chairman of the board for Medical Associates of Northwest Arkansas and has served as the Vice Chairman. In his spare time, Dr. Gordon enjoys attending sporting events, especially Razorback sports, and collecting sports memorabilia. He and his wife, Marsha, like to shop at antique stores and junk shops. Mahan, Meredith

Dr. Meredith Mahan with Northwest Arkansas Pediatrics is a native of Natchez, Mississippi and received her medical training in New Orleans. She has decades of experience practicing pediatric medicine. She was a pediatrician in Memphis, Tennessee for four years before making Northwest Arkansas her home. She enjoys caring for children of all ages and medical problems, but is known by all as someone with a special heart for patients and families struggling with chronic conditions. Dr. Mahan was voted as one of the Best Pediatricians by readers of AY Magazine in 2018. In 2015, she was named "Best Pediatrician" by the readers of Celebrate Magazine. Dr. Mahan has served on the Community Advisory Board for the Northwest Arkansas Junior League, is a Kappa Delta sorority alumni, and has taught Sunday school to Pre-K children at St. Paul's Episcopal Church. She serves on the Health Advisory Committee for Head Start of Northwest Arkansas. When asked why she chose to practice pediatrics, she reflects on her love for the innocence and spontaneity of children and their need to be heard and validated, and refers to a quote she aspired to while in college - "let me live like a child in the sun." Outside of the clinic, Dr. Mahan is an avid reader and dog lover, and enjoys bookstores, beaches, Beaver Lake, hiking, and working in her yard. She is a traditional southern cook and especially likes Cajun food. She has a devotion to historic preservation, and is a member of the City of Fayetteville Historic District Commission.

McGowan, Patrick M.

Dr. Patrick McGowan is a board-certified family medicine doctor at MANA Family Medicine in Springdale, Arkansas. After graduating from Springdale High School, Dr. McGowan attended the University of Kansas, where he ran track and cross country for the Jayhawks. He then returned to Arkansas where he completed his Master's degree in Public Health and Doctorate in Medicine at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock. His final two years of medical school were completed in Fayetteville at UAMS Northwest. Dr. McGowan enjoys the variety of Family Medicine and developing relationships and goals with his patients in order to meet their healthcare needs. A native of Springdale, he enjoys living in Northwest Arkansas with his wife Camryn and two children. Dr. McGowan is grateful to be practicing medicine in his hometown in the same practice his father established. In his free time, he enjoys spending time on Beaver Lake, running, watching the Jayhawks play basketball, and going to Razorback games.

Paula J. Maxwell - COO

Paula was instrumental in the formation of MANA in 1999. Paula is a registered nurse and has over 20 years of experience in the medical field. As Chief Operations Officer, Paula directs administrative services and human resources. She oversees physician recruitment, employee recruitment, and marketing and public relations. As a nurse, Paula worked as the head RN at a burn center at the Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She presented several abstracts and papers at national burn conferences and co-authored an instructional video for burn victims and their families in an effort to improve the quality of medical care and for burn victims. Paula relocated to Northwest Arkansas and was the Director of Patient Care at Fayetteville Diagnostic Clinic. Paula's professional associations include the Medical Group Management Association, Society for Human Resource Management, North Arkansas Human Resource Society, and American Society of Training and Development. In the community, Paula is a Leadership Fayetteville graduate and has served on the Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce and the LifeStyles board of directors.

Sipe, Whitney Manlove

Dr. Whitney Manlove Sipe joined The Breast Center in August of 2018. She completed a diagnostic radiology residency and a fellowship in breast imaging both at Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. During her residency, Dr. Sipe was named Chief Resident. Also in St. Louis, she completed an internal medicine residency at St. Mary's Health System. Dr. Sipe earned a medical degree from UAMS where she received an award for excellence in clinical studies and co-founded the UAMS Radiology Interest Group. Dr. Sipe grew up in the Ozarks on Table Rock Lake. Dr. Sipe enjoys the outdoors, water sports, hiking, canoeing, and walking her two dogs. She lives in Northwest Arkansas with her husband, Adam, and their sons, Landon and Felix.

Smith, Cody R.

Dr. Cody Ross Smith is a MANA physician with MANA Urgent Care. Before his family medicine residency at the University of Arkansas School for Medical Sciences in Fayetteville, Arkansas, Dr. Smith was an operating room technician at Kell West Regional Hospital in Wichita Falls, Texas, where he prepared, observed, and assisted in surgeries. In addition to practicing medicine, Dr. Cody R. Smith has a green thumb and a passion for volunteering. He did work with Smith's Gardentown Farms in Wichita Falls, and has volunteered for medical teams at many events, including the Hogeye Marathon, the Hotter than Hell One Hundred Bike Race, and the Atlanta Area Health Fair.

Terry Hurt - CFO

As Chief Financial Officer for MANA, Terry Hurt directs the Accounting, Human Resources, Tax, and Internal Audit Departments. Hurt administers MANA's benefit plans and manages all financial aspects of MANA's operations. He has a BS in Accounting from Arkansas Tech in Russellville, Arkansas. Hurt joined MANA in December of 2019. He has 18 years of valuable experience in accounting for healthcare systems. Hurt was the Controller at Sparks Health in Fort Smith, the Assistant CFO at White River Medical System in Batesville, and Controller at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
