The Maruzen Group began as Maruzen Ironworks, which was founded in 1919 as a boilermaker. The company changed its name to Maruzen Co., Ltd., upon the opening of the Keiyo Oil Terminal in 1967 and converted its operations at the time into those performed by a tank terminal operator. Subsequently, the company spun-off logistical processes in order to provide specialized support to clients and diversify its business.
