Jeri Cain, CSR, Inc. dba Merit Reporting and Video is a full service court reporting firm providing freelance court reporting, videography and video conferencing to the legal community as well as government offices and local school districts. Merit Reporting was established in 1974 by Jeri Cain, California CSR No. 2460, RMR, CCRR, CRR, CLR. She completed Stenotype theory at Valley College in San Bernardino, California, and attended Bryan College of Court Reporting in Los Angeles. Shortly after state certification in 1972, Jeri received the Certificate of Merit through the National Court Reporters Association, thus the name Merit Reporting was established. Later, the business name was changed to Merit Reporting and Video to reflect technology changes in the industry by adding video to the deposition process. In 2001 Jeri added a video conference center to the business. In 2010 we announced the opening and establishment of our Santa Maria office in which we also offer business quality videoconferencing and videography. Some of Jeri Cain's additional accomplishments include acquiring the Certificate of Proficiency, Registered Professional Reporter, Registered Merit Reporter, Certified LiveNote Reporter, and holds the California Certificate in Realtime Reporting. In the late 1980s Jeri placed second in the state speed contest given by the California Court Reporters Association.
