CentraCare - Midsota Plastic Surgery was founded in 1983 by Drs. Jim Smith and Paul Heath, both Mayo-trained plastic surgeons, who realized that Central Minnesota needed plastic surgery services. They wrote their first business plan on a restaurant placemat, created the name "Midsota" to evoke an image of the middle of Minnesota and then set about making their vision a reality.
