Michele Kearns

Our clerk Michele Kearns has over 40 years of experience working in administrative roles associated with the legal profession. In particular, as a Barristers' Clerk since 1990, she is a senior clerk and mentor. For over 30 years Michele has clerked primarily for Barristers with strong Land and Environment Court and property law practices. She worked in the Land and Environment Court from 1983 - 1987, in the Registry, and as Associate to Justice ET Perrignon of the Court until his retirement. Having worked in barristers chambers since 1987 she has a unique understanding of the legal profession and needs of solicitors and clients. Michele is a Justice of the Peace for NSW. For the NSW Bar Association, she is a member of the Climate Change and Environment Committee; and has previously been a member of the Equitable Briefing Working Committee, the Bar Practice Development Committee, the Bar Fees Committee and the New Barristers Committee. She is a member of the NSW Barristers Clerk's Association, and Treasurer since 2010. A founding member of the Environment and Planning Law Association (EPLA), Michele has been the Secretary of EPLA since 1993, and conference convenor since 1988.
