The Manitoba Tourism Education Council (MTEC) was established in 1989 as a not-for-profit corporation that receives provincial funding to assist the tourism industry in Manitoba in remaining viable through training their owners, managers, supervisors and employees... MTEC has worked with thousands of tourism professionals throughout the province. Each year MTEC trains roughly 11,000 individuals on-line, at the training centre in Winnipeg and group sessions across the province... Tourism is a dynamic and diverse industry that employs over 59,000 people in Manitoba. MTEC plays a key role in this competitive business environment by delivering proven training programs to preserve and enhance the level of customer service, skills training, safety programs and general business training throughout the province.
