The National Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (NCCIM) is the apex trade organisation in Malaysia; and a federation of 5 national trade organisations... The origins of NCCIM is traced to 1962, where by virtue of a decision of the cabinet of the Government of the Federation of Malaya to establish a unified private sector organisation representing Malayan businesses in the domestic and international trade; 4 major chambers of commerce came together to form the United Chambers of Commerce of the Federation of Malaya... Today, NCCIM, as a unified private sector organisation, the role is best encapsulated as "to represent and promote the interests of the business community in Malaysia on the domestic and global fronts; and to be the voice of the business community".
