Anthony Justo

Anthony brings a fresh perspective and tremendous passion to the board. In 2016, he was 25 years old and the oldest graduate of NewBridge Jobs Plus, our alternative education and career program. Addicted to drugs as an adolescent, Anthony committed a robbery in 2012 to support his habit. He spent time in jail and at a state rehabilitation facility and turned his life around. Anthony now runs a support group for people overcoming opioid addiction and plans to open a fitness center."I want to help keep NewBridge strong for the younger generation, and keep it as current as possible while holding onto the beliefs instilled by its mission," he said.

David Crapo - VP

David Moore

Job Titles:

David Moore joined NewBridge Services in January 2019, and oversees the nonprofit's properties - 84 units of affordable housing and five group homes. He also plans for new development. Mr. Moore is a proponent for creating affordable, accessible housing with support services, especially for people diagnosed with a mental illness and seniors, many of whom struggle financially.

David R. Lacouture

Mr. Lacouture started his career at NewBridge in 1985 as a van driver and pre-employment training instructor for NewBridge Jobs Plus - becoming program manager within a year. Following a stint as director of Homeless Outreach Service at the Mental Health Association of Morris County, he returned to NewBridge in 1993, as director of Administration. Mr. Lacouture oversees state and county contract management, regulatory compliance, human resources, and information technology. Mr. Lacouture earned an Associate's Degree in Business Administration from the County College of Morris, a Bachelors Degree in Sociology from Montclair State College, and a Master of Social Work from Rutgers University.

Debbie King - President

Isobel Wayrick - Treasurer

Isobel was a neighbor of the late Herbert Irwin, one of NewBridge's founders. She recently retired as vice president of Mars International Inc., a manufacturing firm she co-founded. She is a talented nature photographer who had donated photos for auctions at NewBridge's annual gala (and for other nonprofits' fundraisers). Isobel plans to use her expertise in finance to help NewBridge. "This is an organization that is doing wonderful work, and I believe that a group of people with diverse talents can help make it stronger," she said. She also hopes to recruit master gardeners to restore NewBridge's Enrich garden on Newark Pompton Turnpike. Isobel still lives in the Pequannock Township home she bought with her late husband in 1958. She has a rescue dog, Bella, and volunteers with several organizations, including Chilton Medical Center and Literacy Volunteers of America.

James Sarto

James spent 40 years as a teacher and administrator and is currently the coordinator for New Jersey Leaders to Leaders, which pairs mentors with new New Jersey school administrators. The lifelong Pompton Plains resident is president of the Pequannock Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Pequannock Township Coalition. He also serves on numerous statewide education panels. The married father of four is a musician, a pilot and an interpreter for the deaf. "I've known about NewBridge all my life. I'm very excited to make a difference and help take it to the next step," he said.

Kathy Eberly Ovitt

Kathy is president and CFO at Levitt Properties in Sussex County. She has served on board for numerous community organizations, and is treasurer of the Mortimer and Mimi Levitt Foundation. Mother to three grown boys, Kathy is sensitive to the challenges facing young people. She also has empathy for seniors and those who support them, having cared for her aging parents. Kathy and her husband, Terry, split their time between Hamburg and Dunedin, Florida.

Marc K. Mackin - CFO

Marc K. Mackin, a former managing director of North American operations for the international corporation Lapp, joined NewBridge Services in June 2023. Mr. Mackin grew up in Pequannock Township and began his accounting career in 1980, after earning a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and computer sciences from Montclair State College (now Montclair State University). He advanced from auditing to the consulting practice at Arthur Young & Company, before holding positions with Johnson & Johnson, Pepsico and Pioneer Electronics. At the Lapp Group, he worked his way up the ladder, serving as CFO, COO and then president of North American operations. After 20 years, he moved on to consult with corporate teams on culture, strategy and execution. During that time, Mr. Mackin completed a five-year master's program in theology at Seton Hall University. He was ordained a Roman Catholic deacon in August 2020, and serves at his home parish of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Pompton Plains. Mr. Mackin is a New Jersey CPA and a Chartered Global Management Accountant. He serves on the board of Holy Spirit School in Pequannock and the Riese Corporation, which provides more than 1,000 units of affordable housing to families and the elderly in Paterson and Clifton. He is a former board member of the Interfaith Food Pantry, the Lapp Group, and Air Techniques, Inc., a leader in dental practice equipment.

Michelle Borden - CEO

Michelle Borden has more than 40 years experience in nonprofit leadership, including 23 at NewBridge Services. Ms. Borden is a force behind NewBridge's innovative programming, designed with flexibility to meet communities' changing needs. As CEO, she oversees day-to-day operations, quality management and regulatory compliance. Ms. Borden coordinates the nonprofit's response to community crises, and represents the organization in local, county and statewide planning efforts. She is a Certified School Social Worker, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, a Certified Social Work Manager, and a Disaster Response Crisis Counselor. Ms. Borden found her calling at age 12, after a hurricane devastated her New Orleans neighborhood. She earned a bachelor's degree in cultural studies at Bates College in Maine, and a Master of Social Work at the University of Connecticut. Working for the Devereaux Foundation, Ms Borden led the creation of a residential program for girls with emotional disturbance. She then spent 11 years overseeing the psychiatric and substance abuse programs - first outpatient and then both outpatient and inpatient - at East Orange General Hospital. She began working at NewBridge in 1997, and quickly became second-in-command. Before becoming CEO, Ms. Borden served as chief operating officer. After the 9/11 terrorist attacks, Borden became a founding member of the Morris County Human Services Response Network. The effort led to New Jersey becoming one of the first states to certify disaster response crisis counselors. A decade later, Borden was providing psychological first aid in communities devastated by flooding. She serves on the Morris County Youth Services Advisory Council; the Professional Advisory Committees for the Morris and Passaic County Mental Health and Substance Abuse Advisory Boards; the Sussex County Human Services Advisory Committee; and the Morris County Traumatic Loss Coalition.
