David C. Gilmer

David C. Gilmer received the B.S. degree in economics from St. John's University, Collegeville MN, and the B.A. degree in chemistry and the Ph.D. degree in materials chemistry from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, in 1994 and 1998, respectively. In 1998, he joined Motorola's Advanced Products Research and Development Laboratory, where he worked on new materials development for advanced MOSFETs, including high-k dielectrics, metal gate electrodes, and strained channels. He continued this work with Freescale Semiconductor in 2005. He then joined SEMATECH, Inc., Austin, TX, in 2007 and focused on new materials development for advanced memories, including charge trap Flash and resistance change (RRAM) devices and was the RRAM program manager starting from 2010. In 2015, he became the principle process integration engineer with the start-up company Nantero working on integrating carbon nanotubes for next generation memory technologies. He is the author or coauthor of more than 130 papers, a book editor and chapter author, and the holder of twelve patents in these areas. Professor Ivan Groznov is a senior technology adviser at PJSC Seligdar, Russian gold mining company. At this position he published three patents for inventions, obtained a national award and implemented recycling of stale heap leach piles. For the last three years, he devoted himself to creating a rotary kiln for direct roasting of refractory sulfide ores. An oxidative roasting plant was built using the created kiln. Groznov graduated with PhD from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology. He started his carer as a researcher at the X-ray laboratory of the Karpov Institute of Physical Chemistry. Professor Groznov began to teach physics and other physics subjects at higher educational institutions. He worked as a junior researcher at the Karpov Institute of Physical Chemistry (1966-1973), as an Associate Professor at the Department of Physics at Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology (1973 - 1979), as a Senior Researcher and a Head of the Laboratory at the Institute of Chemical Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences (1977 - 1997), and as a Dean of the Faculty of Molecular and Biological Physics at Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, (1997 - 2013). Professor Groznov has over 50 years of research and teaching experience, about twenty Russian and international scientific journal publications, and ten patents. Most recently he has been engaged in developing engineering solutions for mining and environment protecting technologies.

Jan Labanowski

Jan Labanowski interests span a broad area of computer applications in chemistry and biology. He graduated from Jagiellonian University in Krakow with M.S. in Theoretical Chemistry and M.S. in Plant Biochemistry, where he also completed his Ph.D. in Cell Biology. While familiar with the bench, his true love (but not the only one) is computers. After coming to US in 1981, he jumped on the bandwagon of Molecular Modeling splitting his time between research work in Departments of Physiology and Biophysics and Computer Science at The Washington University in St. Louis, and computational chemistry software development at the newly established company, Tripos Associates, interleaving this with his appointment at the Research Labs of American Red Cross in Detroit. He finally settled in Columbus Ohio with a joint appointment in the Ohio Supercomputer Center and the OSU College of Pharmacy. After over 15 years at OSU he decided to undertake a new challenge of managing the Science Computer Facility at the University of Notre Dame, but returned to Columbus after failed attempts to convince his family to move to this beautiful and inspiring community away from the busy and noisy capital city of Ohio. Stephen Goodnick

As one of ASU's most successful researchers over the past decade, Goodnick's research specializations lie in solid-state device physics, semi-conductor transport, quantum and nanostructure devices and device technology, and high frequency devices. Goodnick previously served as the interim deputy dean for the Ira A. Fulton School of Engineering at ASU, and earlier as chair of the Fulton School's Department of Electrical Engineering, one of ASU's most active and successful units, and served as President of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department Heads Association from 2003-2004.
