Created in 1982 by renowned Zoo Chairman, patron and philanthropist Walter Scott, Jr., the Omaha Zoo Foundation was one of the first organizations of its kind. The Foundation was originally charged with building a robust membership of contributing, engaged Zoo patrons. But since then, this mission has grown to encompass all aspects of Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium... The Omaha Zoo Foundation is listed as a public charity and 501(c)(3) organization.
