Dr. Brian Blumenauer

Dr. Brian Blumenauer is a third generation native Floridian who was born and raised in central Florida. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Florida and this is where he met his wife, Natalie. His interest in medicine and desire to become a surgeon led him to Florida State University for medical school. Upon completion of medical school, Brian couples-matched with his wife and was selected to complete his residency as a general surgeon at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. This program offered training at one the busiest trauma centers while situated in the largest medical center in the country, the Texas Medical Center. Under the guidance of some of the best, most recognized surgeons in the country at both the University of Texas and MD Anderson, Brian formed the foundation of his surgical abilities. His training and love of surgery guided him towards the idea of becoming a true surgeon's surgeon; a plastic surgeon. Through relentless hard work, outstanding clinical performance and research, Brian was accepted as a fellow to the highly sought-after Vanderbilt University plastic surgery program. His fellowship consisted of 3 years of perfecting the art of plastic and reconstructive surgery while under the tutelage of some of the most respected plastic surgeons in the field. Following the completion of his plastic surgery fellowship, Brian has returned home to Florida. Since meeting his wife back during his days at the University of Florida, Brian has been visiting her hometown of Stuart, Florida any chance he can get. He fell in love with Stuart the first time he visited. "I knew right away this was the place I wanted to return to and raise a family." Speaking of family, Brian and his wife Natalie, an emergency medicine physician, are proud parents of three boys. In his free time, Dr. Blumenauer is a proud husband and father who loves spending time with his family. The Blumenauer family loves being on the water or spending the day relaxing at the beach. Of note, Brian is an avid fisherman who loves the fishery Stuart offers. If not with his family or out fishing, Brian can be found on the golf course working on his short game.

Dr. Carrie A. Palmer

Dr. Carrie A. Palmer has been practicing General Ophthalmology and Corneal specialization as well as performing cosmetic surgeries since 2009. She is the only full-time, fellowship-trained Corneal specialist on the Treasure Coast.

Dr. Karina Somohano is an esteemed Cornea, Cataract, and Refractive Surgeon, whose exceptional expertise and dedication have significantly contributed to the field of ophthalmology. As a key member of our surgical team at the One Day Surgery Center, Dr. Somohano offers state-of-the-art ophthalmic surgeries aimed at improving the vision and quality of life for her patients. Her academic foundation was laid at the University of Miami, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience, earning recognition through prestigious societies such as Phi Beta Kappa and Alpha Epsilon Delta Pre-Health Honor Society. She then pursued her Doctorate in Medicine at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, receiving the Dean's Award for her outstanding contributions, particularly in leadership roles that enhanced primary care and youth medical education initiatives. Dr. Somohano honed her expertise in Ophthalmology during her residency at New York-Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell, where her commitment to clinical excellence was celebrated with the Resident Research Day Award. She further specialized in Cornea and External Disease through a comprehensive fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis, under the mentorship of Dr. Augustine Hong, M.D. Throughout her illustrious career, Dr. Somohano has actively engaged in groundbreaking research, contributing to the advancement of ophthalmology through publications in highly respected journals. Her research interests have spanned from innovative corneal treatments to the exploration of glaucoma therapy effects, demonstrating her dedication to improving patient care through scientific discovery. Dr. Somohano's proficiency extends beyond her surgical and research capabilities; she is also fluent in Spanish, enabling her to provide compassionate and inclusive care to a diverse patient population. A native of Miami, Florida, Dr. Somohano is delighted to offer her services in her hometown, where she is committed to delivering the highest standard of ophthalmic care to her community. Dr. Richard E. Seith

Dr. Richard E. Seith has been practicing as a General Ophthalmologist and Cataract Surgeon for over 10 years.

Dr. Sapir Karli

Dr. Sapir Karli received her undergraduate degree from Brandeis University with a Bachelor of Science in both Psychology and Health: Science, Society, and Policy. She then attended the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, from which she received her Doctor of Medicine degree in addition to a Research Distinction Award, for her tireless work authoring several scientific publications and presenting at numerous national conferences. After completing an internship in Internal Medicine at the University of Miami Palm Beach Regional Campus, Dr. Karli completed her ophthalmology residency at the University of South Carolina. There, she served in the leadership role of Chief Resident during her senior year. Training in a busy tertiary care center enabled Dr. Karli to immerse herself in a multitude of ophthalmic subspecialties, gaining great exposure and experience in the most exciting new innovations in the field of ophthalmology. Sapir Karli M.D. strives to be a multi-faceted comprehensive ophthalmologist, providing her patients with compassionate personalized medical and surgical care. Dr. Karli provides stellar, comprehensive, opthamologic care, including advanced laser cataract and refractive surgery, which utilizes a 5-minute laser procedure offering far safer and better visual outcomes. She is incredibly facile employing the latest advanced technology intraocular lenses, including multifocal lenses, which negate or minimize the necessity of eyeglasses. She also has extensive expertise treating glaucoma with medical management and/or performing minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), which is the forefront of preserving vision in those afflicted with glaucoma. Lastly, Dr. Karli has an additional forte for treating diabetic eye disease, macular degeneration, dry eye disease, and functional eyelid disorders. Dr. Karli was born in Israel, and moved to South Florida with her immediate family in 1999. Since then, Florida has been her home, where she is committed to serving the entire South Florida community as an outstanding surgeon and comprehensive ophthalmologist. Dr. Karli enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends, and in particular, enjoys boating, jet skiing, and soaking in the Florida sun on the beach.

Rob Vickers

Dr. Vickers grew up in West Virginia where he attended Marshall University, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree and graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2002. From there he went to West Virginia University School of Medicine where he graduated in 2006. While at WVU, Dr. Vickers was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society and served as class president for four years. He then went on to a general surgery internship at the Medical University of South Carolina. Following internship, Dr. Vickers completed his ophthalmology residency at the Storm Eye Institute at the Medical University of South Carolina where he served as chief resident during his last year. He then completed a two-year fellowship in oculoplastic and reconstructive surgery at the Krieger Eye Institute at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore. Prior to opening his own office, Dr. Vickers worked in two large multispecialty ophthalmology practices in Georgia and Florida. His area of expertise is cosmetic eyelid surgery, including blepharoplasty, ptosis repair (droopy lid surgery), and brow lift surgery. Additionally, Dr. Vickers has extensive experience in correcting eyelid malpositions such as entropion and ectropion, periocular skin cancer removal and reconstruction, surgical treatment for tearing, and disorders of the eye socket. He also has expertise in non-surgical eyelid and facial rejuvenation with botulinum toxin and dermal fillers.
