Alan Papernick

Alan brings a unique perspective to any multi-faceted commercial business transaction. Alan established the firm in 1968 and built it into one of Pittsburgh's most respected group of attorneys. Papernick and Gefsky attorneys say that the advantage of their boutique firm is they give very personal service with highly capable and accomplished lawyers and create a true camaraderie between clients and professionals. Alan's areas of practice include business, banking law, commercial real estate tax appeals, trusts, estates and wills and real estate. Alan has distinguished himself in both residential and commercial real estate law, working on behalf of lenders, borrowers, developers and realtors. Alan has numbered among his clients numerous lending institutions, one of the largest construction companies, major owners of apartment buildings, the largest grocery chain and the areas major real estate developers. Additionally Alan has helped in the acquisition of the properties for PNC Park, Heinz Field & the David Lawrence Convention Center.

Diane K. Wohlfarth

Diane represents financial institutions, borrowers, real estate developers and community associations and their boards. Diane's primary areas of practice are commercial and real estate finance, commercial real estate, formation and governance of community associations, and general corporate law. Diane has represented commercial lenders, developers, landlords, property owners, association boards of directors, declarants and managers. Diane is a frequent lecturer in the areas of real estate transactions and associations law, including participating in programs and seminars sponsored by the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, the Allegheny County Bar Association and CAI-PADELVAL.

Hilary K. Wheatley

Hilary focuses her practice on civil litigation, with concentration in real estate and estate planning.

Marissa B. Levin

Marissa focuses her practice on real estate transactions, community associations and civil litigation. Marissa's practice includes general law practice, including concentrations in associations, real estate, and litigation. Marissa handles most of the Firm's landlord/tenant matters, and has experience with commercial disputes. Marissa, born in Warren, New Jersey, was admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar in 2020. While studying at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law Marissa served as the Assistant Editor University of Pittsburgh Journal of Technology Law and Policy.

Michael J. Pisarcik

Michael focuses his practice on real estate with concentration on Commercial transactions and civil litigation. Michael's practice includes all aspects of real estate law at both the residential and commercial level. Michael also has experience representing planned community and condominium associations. Michael, a native of Nanty Glo, Pennsylvania, was admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar in 2014. While studying at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law Michael served as the Bluebook Editor for the Pittsburgh Tax Review.

Robert L. Murphy

Bob focuses his practice on commercial real estate lending, creditor representation, and real estate law. Bob's practice includes representation of commercial lenders in a variety of commercial real estate financing transactions and asset based loans; representation of buyers and sellers of commercial properties; structuring and negotiating sale and purchase transactions; drafting, negotiating and enforcing real estate leases; negotiation and resolution of complex title insurance issues as a licensed title insurance agent; representation of institutions in hundreds of bankruptcy, collection and foreclosure matters, representation of clients before municipal authorities, such as zoning hearing boards, and prosecuting appeals from such boards; representation of property owners in real estate tax appeal matters; and representation of residential lenders, buyers and sellers in thousands of residential real estate transactions. Bob has lectured on areas of real estate transactions, mortgage foreclosure, collection law and landlord-tenant law, including participation in programs and seminars sponsored by the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, the Allegheny County Bar Association and national title insurance companies.

Stephen M. Papernick

Stephen has significant experience in real estate and lending transactions and represents growing businesses in a variety of matters. Stephen has handled hundreds of business-related transactions and has counseled numerous clients on a wide array of matters including entity formation, employment matters, loan documentation, and sales and purchases of assets. His diverse real estate practice spans the gamut of property issues, including acquisitions, title matters, financing, tax appeals, property management and dispositions.
