Dr. Avery Silvers

Dr. Avery Silvers is a Fear Free certified veterinarian in Jacksonville, with a special interest in cardiology, internal medicine, veterinary ophthalmology, and veterinary acupuncture. Dr. Silvers is a 2007 graduate of Western University in Pomona, CA, and has been with Pet Doctors of America since 2009. She is dedicated to providing advanced veterinary care to her patients while building compassionate relationships with their owners and caregivers. As Medical Director, she is an integral part of the management of the medical care Pet Doctors of America provides and helps to ensure that patients always receive the most up-to-date medicine and diagnostics. She has advanced training in acupuncture and ultrasonography, which enhance her special interest in internal medicine and soft-tissue surgery. She also has additional training in ophthalmology and enjoys helping her dermatology patients find relief! Outside of the office, Dr. Silvers loves exploring our beautiful area of the country from the water with her husband, 2 young boys, and her two dogs Java and Archie. She is also a pilates enthusiast which compliments her love of the equestrian discipline of dressage, in which she holds USDF bronze and silver medals.

Dr. Holly Nelson

Dr. Holly Nelson is a veterinarian in Jacksonville, with an interest in veterinary internal medicine and pet dermatology. Dr. Holly Nelson was born and raised in metro Atlanta, GA. She attended the University of Georgia for her bachelors degrees in Biology and Microbiology. She then went on to graduate from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 2019. After graduation, she started working in Brunswick, GA as a small animal general practitioner. Dr. Nelson moved to Jacksonville and started working with Pet Doctors of America in 2021. As part of the Pet Doctors team, she will continue to strive in providing pets with high-quality, comprehensive care while building collaborative, trusting relationships with pet parents. Outside of work, Dr. Nelson lives with her two pets, Teddy the dog and Pokey the cat. She enjoys reading and playing video games.
