Dr. Kiningham joined us in August 2012 as an associate. In May 2015 he was promoted to Managing DVM. He is a graduate of The University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine with an undergraduate degree from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA. He also holds a Master of Science degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Science from UT. Prior to moving to Pawleys Island, he owned a veterinary practice in Tennessee and was voted Best Veterinarian by the readers of the local newspaper in 2011. Dr. Kiningham is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, The American Association of Feline Practitioners, and the American Heartworm Society.
Dr. Kiningham spends much of his free time enjoying the ocean and beach, wildlife photography, and being a sports fan, as well as, just hanging out with his wife, Tory, an Advanced Nurse Practitioner/Midwife at Health Care Partners of SC Ob/Gyn Center in Conway and their exuberant young daughter Gemma. They have 3 furry children: 2 dogs, Addy and Bacon and a cat, Ziva. In addition, Dr. Kiningham is very proud of his 4 grown (less furry) children: Krista an instructional coach for the Metro Nashville Public Schools in Nashville, TN, Stephen a software developer in Murrells Inlet, SC, Amy a Family Nurse Practitioner in Dayton, TN, and Lauren a post-graduate student at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN.
Michelle started with us in the fall of 2000 as a technician. In June of 2016, she was promoted to Hospital Manager. In her new role, her commitment to providing quality and compassionate care to all our patients remains unchanged and continues to inspire the staff. Michelle graduated in 1994 from East Stroudsburg University with a BS in Biology. Michelle looks forward to continuing to grow in her role as Hospital Manager and strives to provide a pleasant and rewarding experience for every client and every pet as often as possible. Michelle and her husband have one son. Her fur family includes a Rommel, Penny, Nola, and their cats, Grey and Timmy Tat. When not at work, she enjoys participating in dog agility with Rommel and watching her son play lacrosse.
Dr Auletta is originally from Long Island New York. She joined Pawleys Veterinary Hospital after graduating from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. She and her island kitty "Artemis" have recently moved to South Carolina after completing her clinical year at Texas A&M University. When not practicing veterinary medicine she enjoys reading a good book or exploring her new home state.
Dr. Welch rejoined Pawleys Veterinary Hospital on July 6, 2015. She is a native of Alabama and moved to South Carolina in 2010 when she first started working at Pawleys Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Welch is a graduate of the University of West Alabama, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She received her veterinary education from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine, where she graduated in 2010. Dr. Welch loves being a veterinarian, and enjoys using her skills to help others through mission trips. In her spare time, she enjoys reading a good book, going on long walks with her dogs, boating, and traveling. She has a house full of her special pets: 2 cats (Papi and Dexter); 2 Dogs (Shelby and Amos).
