Dr. Christian Capitini is tenured associate professor and chief in the Division of Hematology, Oncology, and Bone Marrow Transplant and the Jean R. Finley Professor in Pediatric Hematology and Oncology. He serves as co-leader of the Developmental Therapeutics Program at the University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center and director of clinical innovation at the Forward BIO Institute. He has received many awards for his clinical and research contributions, including the Department of Pediatrics Ger ard B. Odell Research Award, the Outstanding New Member Science Award from the Society for Pediatric Research (SPR), and the Janet Rowley Award from the Jonas Center Cellular Therapy Symposium at the University of Chicago. Nationally, Capitini is an active member of the Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC) and serves as at-large director. Additionally, he is section editor for the Journal for Immunotherapy of Cancer and serves on the executive board for the Pediatric Real World chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T Consortium. Capitini is a pediatric hematologist and oncologist who is active clinically within the Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplant and Cellular Therapy program. In this role, he helps incorporate bone marrow transplants and (CAR) T cells into pediatric clinical care.

Dr. David Allen is tenured professor in the Division of Endocrinology and Diabetes. Additionally, he is chief of the Pediatric Diabetes and Endocrinology, as well as program director of the Pediatric Diabetes and Endocrinology fellowship training program. Allen served as director of the University of Wisconsin (UW) School of Medicine and Public Health Pediatric Residency Program for 14 years, as the chair of the Wisconsin Endocrine Newborn Screening Committee for 24 years, and as a member of the American Board of Pediatrics sub-board for Pediatric Endocrinology for five years. On the national level, Dr. Allen was elected director and then president of the Pediatric Endocrine Society. Allen is also the recipient of numerous awards for excellence in education, clinical care, and academic leadership. Notably, he was awarded the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) Parker Palmer "Courage to Teach" national award, the UW Presidential Physician Leadership Award, the Wisconsin Medical Alumni Association Career Citation Award, and the UW Clinical Educator Award. Allen is an editorial reviewer for numerous peer-reviewed journals and served as an editorial board member for the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism. Additionally, he was an associate editor for the International Journal of Pediatric Endocrinology. On the international level, Allen was selected as chair of the Organizing Committee for the International Meeting of Pediatric Endocrinology (IMPE) before serving as president of the 10th IMPE meeting.

Dr. Jessica (Jess) Babal is associate professor (CHS) and interim academic division chief in the Division of General Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine. Her professional mission is to cultivate compassionate and humanistic clinical and working environments in medicine. She co-created the Introduction to Humanities elective for medical students and is the director of the Listen In! Storytelling Collaborative which develops storytelling programming and research. Babal is a pediatrician committed to providing high-quality family-centered care. Babal is a member of the Pediatric Resident Burnout and Resilience Study Consortium (PRB-RSC), facilitating annual collection of pediatric resident well-being data. Additionally, she is a member of the PRB-RSC Learning Environment task force which aims to study how learning environment components intersect with pediatric resident well-being. Her research also explores issues of gender bias in medical education and innovative applications of the humanities in medical education.

Dr. Mary Ehlenbach

Dr. Mary Ehlenbach is associate professor (CHS) in the Division of Hospital Medicine and Complex Care. She is the medical director of the Pediatric Complex Care Program and director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for the Department of Pediatrics. Ehlenbach's professional interests include optimizing the health, well-being, and experience of care for children with medical complexity. In addition, she is committed to promoting an environment of inclusion, accessibility, equity, and anti-racism within the Department of Pediatrics. She is a member of the steering committee for the University of Wisconsin-Madison chapter of the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) Groups on Women in Medicine and Science and was elected to a two-year term on the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics (UWHC) Medical Board in 2021. Ehlenbach was the inaugural recipient of the Paster Family Foundation Innovation award in 2018, was selected for and completed the UW Health Physician Leadership Development Program in 2019-21, and was named the initial recipient of the O'Connor Family Endowed Professorship in Pediatrics in 2021.

Dr. Peter Ferrazzano

Dr. Peter Ferrazzano is the Enid and Jerry Weygandt Professor (CHS) of pediatric critical care and chief of the Division of Critical Care. In addition to his clinical work in the PICU, he serves as medical director of the Waisman Center's Pediatric Brain Care Clinic, a clinic for children with acquired brain injuries and those at risk for long-term neurodevelopmental impacts from a critical illness. Nationally, Ferrazzano has served as chair of the Pediatric Neurocritical Care Research Group (PNCRG), an international research organization focused on improving neurologic outcomes in critically ill children and continues to serve on the PNCRG executive committee. Ferrazzano is a pediatric critical care physician with a special interest in acquired brain injury, neurocritical care, and improving long-term neurodevelopmental outcomes in critically ill children.

Dr. Ryan Coller is a tenure track associate professor and division chief in the Division of Hospital Medicine and Complex Care. His professional work includes service on editorial boards for the journals Pediatrics and Academic Pediatrics. He also serves on the National Quality Forum's committee in their mission to endorse patient experience and function measures. Mentoring faculty and trainees is an integral component of Coller's work. He has enjoyed serving as a national mentor for the Academic Pediatric Association's Quality and Safety Improvement Scholars and Young Investigator Award Programs. Coller is a pediatric hospitalist interested in preventing hospitalization through innovative support for the healthcare delivered at home by families to children with chronic illnesses. Coller is a physician-scientist who serves as the principal investigator (PI) of National Institutes of Health (NIH), Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), and Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA)-funded research programs. His research applies mixed-methods to design and test clinical interventions to improve family-centered outcomes for children with medical complexity. He serves as research director of the Pediatric Complex Care Program. In addition, Coller is the co-PI and director of primary data for the Children and Youth with Special Healthcare Needs National Research Network.

Dr. Sabrina Butteris

Dr. Sabrina Butteris is professor (CHS) in the Division of Hospital Medicine and Complex Care and the Division of Global Pediatrics. She serves the department as vice chair of clinical affairs and leads the Division of Global Pediatrics as its chief. Butteris' professional interests include developing local and international partnerships that span health systems and K-12 school environments to address challenges affecting children's health. Her work with global health has focused on leadership, curriculum development and education in the U.S. and abroad. She co-founded and has served as the co-leader for the global health learning community of the Association of Pediatric Program Directors (APPD). She chaired the global health task force of the American Board of Pediatrics and served on the education committee for the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) section on global health. She is the co-creator of SUGAR PREP, a quite of free education products used to prepare medical providers to work in resource-limited settings.
