Amy Burns

Amy Burns was born and raised in Harbor Springs, and still resides there with her family. She received her Associate's Degree in Nursing from North Central Michigan College in 2008. Amy worked at McLaren Northern Michigan for over 8 years on the medical surgical floor, specializing in orthopedics, neurosurgery, and urology. She completed her Master's Degree in Nursing with a Family Nurse Practitioner emphasis from Michigan State University in 2017. She then worked at Quick Care and Urgent Care in Petoskey before joining Petoskey Surgeons in November of 2020. She works with Dr. Hollenbeck seeing general surgery and bariatric patients. When not at work, Amy enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She enjoys going to the beach, camping, and reading. She has 3 children that keep her busy as well.

Anton Sharapov

Dr. Sharapov came to north America from Russia over 30 years ago. He obtained a degree in Biochemistry and Organic Chemistry, and then continued his medical education and training in General Surgery at Memorial University of Newfoundland, St. John's. While in Medical School, Dr. Sharapov received the CIBA prize in Anatomy. In 2006, he obtained Best Score among residents in General Surgery at Memorial University in Canadian Association of General Surgery in Training Examination, Canada. Dr. Sharapov then served a Vascular and Endovascular Surgery Fellowship at Ottawa University, Ontario, Canada. Dr. Sharapov and his wife moved to the United States in 2008 to live closer to their families. He practiced in Wisconsin, and then in Kalamazoo, Michigan where he was on staff at Borgess and Bronson hospitals as well as Clinical Instructor in Surgery with Michigan State University. In June of 2011, Dr. Sharapov received a "Faculty Award for Excellence" at Kalamazoo Center for Medical Studies, Michigan State University. He chose to live in Petoskey, and the Harbor Springs area over 10 years ago after falling in love with the breathtaking nature and incredible people of Northern Michigan. Dr. Sharapov practices all aspects of general and vascular surgery. He has a special interest in minimally invasive vascular surgery, dialysis access creation and maintenance, venous interventions, aortic surgery, carotid interventions including TCAR, and peripheral open and hybrid vascular interventions. Dr. Sharapov, along with Dr. Jeffrey Beaudoin, developed the first outpatient based interventional laboratory in Northern Michigan, north of 45th parallel, that has been serving the citizens of the Northern Michigan and Upper Peninsula for over 4 years. Since conception, Dr. Sharapov has performed over 1200 procedures in the OBL. Dr. Sharapov is an author of the unique vascular surgery review website (www.vascularsurgeryreview.com) that is utilized by vascular surgery fellows in training in Canada and United States. He developed an interest and expertise in complex abdominal wall reconstruction and recurrent hernias (www.ihavehernia.com). He pioneered systematic cutting-edge complex abdominal wall reconstruction here in Northern Michigan over a period of 10 years that gave hope to patients with multiply failed abdominal hernia interventions and reconstructions. Dr. Anton - as his patients call him - stays current with the latest in vascular care and abdominal wall reconstructive surgery through attendance of mini fellowships, biolabs, and numerous workshops. Dr. Sharapov is certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, American Board of Surgery, American Board of Vascular Surgery, and the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography. When the opportunity came to join Petoskey Surgeons, it was an easy decision. Dr. Sharapov is married and has 3 children. In this spare time, he loves to support local churches and charities, read poetry, travel, work on restoring and repairing his constantly perennially malfunctioning EarthRoamer (that takes his family to adventurous destinations all over the USA) ski, bike, build decks and treehouses, collect his Mother's art (https://www.nutaboutart.com) and spend time with his family. Dr. Sharapov's wife, a native of Wisconsin, Darcie Sharapova, is a board certified family doctor practicing with Alcona Health here in Petoskey and Harbor Springs area.

Dr. Andrea Parsons

Dr. Andrea Parsons attended The College of Saint Benedict for undergraduate studies. She attended Rocky Vista University for Medical School, where she did advanced studies in Rural and Wilderness medicine. She completed her General Surgery Residency at Ascension Genesys Hospital in Grand Blanc, Michigan, where she was Chief Surgical Resident during her 5th year. She completed her Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery Fellowship at McLaren Flint MSU in Flint, Michigan. Her particular interests include Bariatric surgery, antireflux procedures, colon and hernia surgery, and advanced laparoscopic procedures. Andrea is originally from Minnesota. The vast array of outdoor activities drew her to the Petoskey area. When not working, she enjoys spending her free time with her husband and son, hiking, mountain biking, and skiing.

Jennifer M. Kiel

Petoskey Surgeons, PC is proud to introduce a new member of our surgical team, Dr. Jennifer Kiel. Dr. Kiel attended The University of Michigan for undergraduate studies and Michigan State University for medical school. Dr. Kiel completed her general residency at McLaren Macomb Hospital in Mount Clemens, MI. where she was the Chief Surgical Resident. Dr. Kiel is board eligible and has particular interests in trauma and robotic surgeries including gallbladder, colon, and hernias, in addition to thyroid and breast surgeries. Jennifer is originally from the Detroit area; however, she has vacationed in Petoskey and the surrounding areas her entire life. She currently resides in Harbor Springs and loves exploring the bike and hiking trails in the area. When not working, she enjoys spending her free time with family and friends biking, boating, vacationing, and bowling. Jennifer is known for her unique surgical caps (many are Disney themed) which she sews herself.

Kevin M. Markham

Dr. Markham graduated from Wayne State University Medical School in 1995. After earning his Medical Degree, he completed a six-year residency in General Surgery at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan, finishing residency as the Chief Surgical Resident in 2001. Dr. Markham began practice with Petoskey Surgeons, P.C., as an attending surgeon at MNMH in July 2001. He is board certified and is a diplomate of the American Board of Surgery. He also holds certification as a registered physician vascular interpretation (RPVI). Dr. Markham is a member of: Fellow, American College of Surgeons Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract Sustaining member of Phi Beta Kappa He serves on several committees at MNMH, including: Keystone Surgery, Champion Cancer Liason Physician to the Commission on Cancer Cancer Committee Dr. Markham is also the hospital's Surgeon Champion in the National Surgical Quality Improvement Program and is also the preceptor for CMU Physician Assistant students for their Surgery rotation. He enjoys all aspects of general surgery, but his professional interests include surgery of the carotid artery, varicose vein treatment, laparoscopic surgery, and cancer surgery, especially breast and colon surgery. Dr. Markham resides locally and is married with two children. His interests outside of medicine include ice hockey, snowboarding, wakeboarding/wakesurfing, and boating.

Lisa Sonia Maclellan

Lisa Sonia Maclellan has obtained degrees from Milwaukee Area Technical College, Nicolet Area Technical College, Florida Atlantic University and South University. Lisa is proud to say that she has been a registered nurse for over 20 years. Lisa started her nursing career after receiving an award from the National Student Nursing Association. Lisa has worked in Intensive Care Units specializing in medical/surgical and burn patients for over 10 years. Lisa has also taken on roles of ICU charge nurse, hospital-wide wound care nurse, rapid response team leader and fall risk coordinator. Lisa helped institute the wound care prevention program for intubated patients at Detroit Receiving Hospital. During the last several years, Lisa has taken on the role as nurse practitioner in the vascular surgical field. Lisa is utilizing her extensive nursing background and applying it to the needs of her vascular patients. When Lisa is not in the vascular clinic, she is at home with her husband and son. Her husband used to work as a hospital cardiac nurse, but is now farming full time. Her small family farm is in Leelanau County where they raise registered Border Leicester sheep, Dexter cattle, Idaho Pasture pigs, and Great Pyrenees dogs. Lisa also enjoys photography and creative writing.

Michael S. Martin

Dr. Martin is a board certified general surgeon at Petoskey Surgeons. He came to northern Michigan from St. John Hospital and Medical Center in Detroit, MI where he was the recipient of the Stephen P. Swistak Award for Resident Teacher of the Year. He received his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine and was a member of the Honor Society, Critical Care Improvement Council and Program Evaluation Committee. A Paw Paw, MI native, Dr. Martin grew up visiting northern Michigan every summer, "When I started medical school, I knew I wanted to practice in northern Michigan, " said Dr. Martin. "Petoskey was the perfect fit."
