Adam Simms

Mr. Simms' current practice is centered on municipal civil rights litigation in defense of individuals and Massachusetts towns and agencies in both State and Federal court. He also represents public employers in defense of charges of discrimination before the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Mr. Simms came to the firm with fifteen years of legal experience in all facets of litigation. He started his legal career in New York, where his work focused on directors and officers liability, professional liability and insurance coverage. Thereafter, he relocated to Massachusetts and spent seven years in the Massachusetts Office of the Attorney General, where his primary responsibilities included representing Commonwealth officials and agencies in State and Federal courts. While at the Attorney General's office, Mr. Simms developed expertise in administrative law, civil rights, and constitutional law.

Alexandra L. Bengston

Ms. Bengston's practice focuses on litigation defending cities, towns, and other public employers in Massachusetts against claims of negligence and premises liability. Her experience encompasses various phases of litigation and trial preparation, including discovery and motion practice. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Bengston was an associate attorney at a domestic relations and criminal defense firm where she handled high value divorce cases which included issues of child custody, support, alimony, and asset division. Ms. Bengston received her Juris Doctor from New England Law Boston in 2021. While in law school, Ms. Bengston worked at a risk management consulting firm where she drafted and revised contract provisions related to risk transfer and insurance requirements. Prior to beginning her legal career Ms. Bengston's work experience included underwriting commercial business for a large insurance carrier which involved evaluating risk and pricing of multi-line policies including property, general liability, workman's compensation, and automobile liability insurance. Ms. Bengston received her undergraduate degree from Bryant University in 2013, where she majored in Business Management with minors in Communications and Legal Studies.

Andrew S. Russell

In his practice, Mr. Russell represents clients in all phases of litigation including discovery, motion practice, mediations, trial preparation, and appearances at court hearings. His experience includes the nationwide defense of equipment manufacturers in product liability actions, defending health care providers, advising small businesses, and representing municipalities and law enforcement personnel in personal injury, wrongful deaths, civil rights, and class actions. Mr. Russell works closely with in-house counsel and national coordinating counsel in a wide variety of toxic tort civil actions. He is responsible for day-to-day case management, written discovery, fact and expert witness depositions, and motion practice. Additionally, Mr. Russell assists national and local counsel with trials pending in state and federal courts. Anne T. Khirallah

Anne T. Khirallah is Of Counsel to Pierce Davis & Perritano LLP. Her practice focuses primarily on the defense of asbestos-related toxic tort actions. As a member of the firm's national coordinating counsel team representing an equipment manufacturer in asbestos litigation, Ms. Khirallah assists with trial preparation in federal and state cases across the United States. She reviews complex personal injury cases to assist with settlement strategy and the analysis of nuances in state laws regarding joint and several liability and apportionment. Prior to joining Pierce Davis & Perritano LLP, Mrs. Khirallah practiced law as an associate attorney in Rockville, MD primarily focused on the defense of the criminally accused in various counties throughout Maryland. She successfully defended cases ranging from misdemeanors to felonies from arraignment to appeal. She was a member of the Maryland Association for Justice and the Maryland State Bar Association. Mrs. Khirallah received her law degree from the Catholic University of America, where she was Co-President of the Innocence Project Student Group. She was selected as a competition member for her law school's Society of Trial Advocates and competed across the country. She continued as a coach for various CUA Trial Advocate teams for two years post-graduation. Mr. Hunter has successfully tried cases to verdict in both Superior and District Courts throughout Massachusetts. Joel F. Pierce retired as a partner from Pierce Davis & Perritano LLP in June 2018 after more than four decades of practicing law. He now serves as of counsel to PDP, working on selected research projects. Mr. Pierce began practicing law in 1976 with the Boston firm of Morrison, Mahoney & Miller, where he became a senior partner. In 1998, he joined John Davis, Judith Perritano, and the Honorable Elizabeth Fahey in founding Pierce, Davis, Fahey & Perritano LLP, now Pierce Davis & Perritano. During his career, Mr. Pierce litigated cases in both state and federal courts throughout New England. Skilled in all phases of litigation from discovery, through trial and appeals, his experience spanned a broad spectrum of product liability and toxic tort cases, including consumer and recreational products, industrial products, aviation and transportation, chemicals and other toxic substances. In addition to product liability and toxic tort cases, Mr. Pierce also tried a number of cases in the areas of negligent security, liquor liability, police "excessive force", construction, motor vehicle, premises liability, employment discrimination and commercial disputes. These trials included such issues as "pure warnings" cases, defect and causation, consumer protection violations, compensatory damages for brain damage and severe disability, and punitive damages for wrongful death. Recognized for his accomplishments by his peers and clients, Mr. Pierce has consistently received an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell and has been listed in Super Lawyers and Best Lawyers. Melissa M. Malloy

Ms. Phelan's practice primarily focuses on the defense of asbestos, toxic tort, and product liability actions. Prior to joining Pierce Davis & Perritano as an associate, Ms. Phelan worked as a paralegal at the firm for five years, gaining experience in asbestos litigation. Stephen Corcoran is Of Counsel with Pierce Davis & Perritano LLP. Mr. Corcoran's practice for the past decade has focused on asbestos product liability. During his career, he has defended manufacturers of automobiles, pumps, boilers, valves, and other equipment in refineries, steel mills, mines, processing plants, assembly plants and ships in cases involving asbestos containing products and premises liability. Mr. Corcoran has also represented manufacturers of chemical products in toxic tort litigation. Mr. Corcoran brings a wealth of real life experience to his practice by virtue of his significant pre-law "civilian" experience in industrial and commercial construction, serving as an engineer with experience in piping design, hydraulic flow calculations and hands-on experience as a pipe fitter. He also has several years of legal experience representing premises owners, general contractors and subcontractors in construction site accident and defect claims. Mr. Corcoran has successfully tried cases in California Superior Courts, including participation in multiple asbestos trials in Los Angeles Superior Court in the past fifteen years.
