Dr. Colleen Cathrae

Colleen graduated with a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree from the University of Guelph in 2004 and then graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College at the University of Guelph in 2009. Since graduating veterinary school she has worked in Embrun, Colborne, Belleville, Apsley and Peterborough, Ontario. She started working at the Port Hope Veterinary Hospital in January of 2022. She has a passion for preventative medicine as well as feline medicine. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her husband and son enjoying the outdoors with camping, swimming and skating in the winter. They also share their home with their five feline children.

Dr. Gregg Ogilvie

Gregg graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College at the University of Guelph in 2008. He began his career working with animals at the Avicare Wildbird Rehabilitation Centre in 1997 and later became a kennel assistant at the Bowmanville Veterinary Clinic. After graduating from the Veterinary Technician program at Ridgetown College in 2000, he decided to pursue his education further, by enrolling in the BSc Animal Biology program at the University of Guelph. In 2004, Gregg was admitted to the DVM program. Gregg has practiced in both large animal and small animal clinics in Belleville, Trenton, Whitby and Oshawa. He joined the team at Port Hope Veterinary Hospital in August 2019. In his spare time, Gregg enjoys hiking, biking, running, and photography. He also volunteers as a marksmanship instructor with 151 Chadburn Squadron, Royal Canadian Air Cadets in Oshawa. Gregg currently resides in Newcastle with his wife and their very spoiled cat, Tally.

Dr. Kris Young

Kris is a graduate of the Ontario Veterinary College, and the owner of the Port Hope Veterinary Hospital. While he enjoys many areas of practice, Kris is particularly passionate about surgery, anesthesia and pain management. He is a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist (CCRT) through the Canine Rehabilitation Institute and is a member of the International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management (IVAPM). His areas of research have included zoo animals, reproduction and stress. At home, he enjoys spending time with his wife and four children. They miss Carmen, their miniature schnauzer, greatly.
