POWAI - Key Persons
Krishan is a Bell Labs Fellow. He is also a fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) and the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM). He received the Leonard G. Abraham award from the IEEE Communications Society in 1991. He received the Bell Laboratories Distinguished Technical Staff Award in 1990.
He sits on the Board of Powai Labs; mentoring and guiding Powai Labs to reach the next quantum level.
Experience: He is currently Senior Vice President - Networking Research at Lucent Technologies, USA . For the past more than two decades, Krishan has been a member of Bell Labs Research. During this time he has been given different levels of responsibilities. Krishan has conceived and launched several systems projects in the areas of Internetworking and wireless networking, led successful transfers of research ideas to products in Lucent and AT&T business units and conducted extensive personal research in data and wireless networking. He has built organizations known for technical excellence by recruiting and coaching the best people in the industry.
Dr. Desai sits on the Board of Powai Labs. He has taught many people working at Powai Labs, as Professor at IIT Bombay. He gives leadership to the R&D initiative and is the fountainhead of the work being done at Powai Labs.
Experience: He leverages his experience as Principal Engineer, Semiconductor Engineering Group, Digital Equipment Corporation, USA. He has worked extensively on Static Timing Verification, Interconnect Optimization, Logic Synthesis, SRAM Design, and Circuit Optimization. He is currently a professor in the department of Electrical Engineering at IIT Bombay.
Education: He is an alumnus of IIT Bombay and University of Illinois ( Urbana ), USA .
Awards: He has been the recipient of GTE and Schlumberger Graduate Fellowships
