Dr. Richard T. Kotomori Jr.

Job Titles:
  • BOARD CERTIFIED CHILD and ADOLESCENT PSYCHIATRIST
I am a psychiatrist because I love the field. I love my patients. I love the questions and complexity and mystery. I love to witness the interface of biology, sociology, personality, spirit, psychology and circumstance. For me, working with people as a psychiatrist is a forever intriguing endeavor. At this point I would not be as happy doing anything else. Throughout my adolescence my mother often told me that I would become either a scientist or a priest. While I have left the religion, I have discovered within the field of psychiatry a continuum between the scientific and the ethereal, where the limits of what is known factually broach upon what we believe intuitively, what we know experientially, and what we hope to be possible. I bring all of this to the treatment planning process with my patients when we put our heads together to consider their goals, what is known about treatment approaches and what we can hope to achieve.
