John Ramsey, President of RCS, has been in the broadcast engineering field since 1977. He is certified by the Society of Broadcast Engineers, holds a FCC General Class Radiotelephone License number PG1-14232, is an Amateur Advanced Class Licensee, serves on the Connecticut Emergency Alerting System Advisory Board and is the Secretary of Chapter 14 of the Society of Broadcast Engineers. He has served as chief engineer at a number of Southern New England radio stations, including WCCC, WDRC, WHYN and WKSS before starting Ramsey Communications Services. He was Chief Technical Officer of Marlin Broadcasting from 1998 to 2014. In 2015 he was inducted into the Connecticut Broadcasters Association's Hall of Fame. Under the direction of John Ramsey, RCS has designed/built close to a hundred AM, FM and Internet radio studios and constructed, upgraded and/or maintained over four dozen transmitter facilities including a 50,000 watt AM plant, a six tower directional AM array and a multi-tenant TV/AM/FM site. John Ramsey started his broadcasting career as a DJ at college station WWUH when in high school and quickly developed an interest in broadcast engineering. He has worked as a remote and sound reinforcement engineer for such major music acts as The Grateful Dead, Chick Corea, Barry Manilow and The Allman Brothers. He has produced live broadcasts from throughout the US as well as Bermuda, Jamaica and Mexico and has engineering and/or producer credits on a dozen LPs and CDs as well as numerous public television shows.
