Alex Parkinson

Alex has a varied practice within our solicitor group, focusing primarily on corporate and commercial law. He also enjoys attending court from time to time, taking on foreclosures and debt collection. Alex grew up in Abbotsford and obtained a Bachelor of Arts from the University of the Fraser Valley. He then went on to complete his Juris Doctor at the University of British Columbia, graduating in 2022. During his undergraduate degree, Alex worked as a lifeguard for the City of Abbotsford. During his time at law school, Alex volunteered for the Law Students Legal Advice Program and later served as a Judicial Intern at the Provincial Court of British Columbia. Alex was a summer student and then completed his articles with RDM. He was called to the bar in May 2023. Outside of the office you can find Alex on one of the local golf courses or planning future travels with his wife. Like most RDMers, Alex frequents the shops in the lovely historic district our firm is part of and he is on the Board of Directors for the Downtown Abbotsford Business Association. In 2023, Alex was appointed to the City of Abbotsford Business, Innovation and Public Affairs Advisory Committee (BIPAAC). Additionally, as a proud UFV alumni, Alex is a member of the Board of Directors of the UFV Alumni Association.

Emma Bell

Emma is an experienced litigator whose practice focuses on family law, animal custody, WorkSafe/WCB, professional discipline and immigration. Emma completed her Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Anthropology and English at the University of Toronto in 2009. She went on to complete her Master of Arts in Sociology at the University of Ottawa in 2011, and lastly her Juris Doctor at the University of Victoria in 2014. Emma was in-house counsel with an insurance company for nearly 8 years prior to joining RDM. In that role, she gained extensive experience in all aspects of litigation, including a multitude of trials and over 200 discoveries. She has represented clients before the BC Provincial Court, the BC Supreme Court and the BC Civil Resolution Tribunal.

Farah Ben Messaoud

Farah's practice is varied within our solicitor group. She has a particular focus on corporate/commercial and wills and estate planning. Farah graduated in 2014 from Laval University in Quebec City with a Bachelor of Law. Farah furthered her higher education in France at the University of Strasbourg with a certificate in European law. In 2015, she obtained a certificate in Economics from Laval University. Farah was called to the Bar of Quebec in 2018. Before moving to British Columbia, Farah primarily worked as a lawyer for various provincial government agencies in Quebec City and Montreal. She was called to British Columbia's bar in 2020 and joined RDM in 2023. In her spare time, Farah enjoys trying out new restaurants. She also likes to do various outdoor activities and to travel with her husband. Farah is happy to assist clients in both English and French.

Ian Mackinnon

Ian has retired from his practice in the areas of commercial litigation and estate litigation. He often advised companies and shareholders on different types of commercial disputes and had an extensive experience advising clients on wills and estate litigation. Born and raised in Vancouver, Ian received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of British Columbia before earning his law degree from the UBC Law School in 1985. While at UBC, Ian played four years for the senior men's basketball team. He was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 1986 and spent six years working for a Vancouver law firm before joining RDM in 1992. Ian was a partner at RDM from 1993 - 2020. He lives in the Fraser Valley with his wife, Kelly, and has three adult children who are spread across the globe. Once his retirement fully sets in, Ian looks forward to more travel and golf.

Jeevan Hundal

Jeevan's practice is varied with particular focus on immigration, real estate, wills and estates planning, and business law. Jeevan completed his Bachelor of Arts in 2015 at the University of British Columbia. He later obtained his Juris Doctor from Thompson Rivers University in 2019. Jeevan completed his articles with RDM and has remained with the firm following his call to the British Columbia Bar in 2020. Jeevan was born and raised in Vancouver, and spent considerable time in the Fraser Valley at his grandparent's farm while growing up. Prior to attending law school, he spent many summers working as a Youth Program Manager for both the Vancouver School Board and Delta School District. Away from the office, Jeevan enjoys travelling, spending time with his family and friends, and trying the newest restaurants around town. Jeevan is happy to assist clients in English and Punjabi. Julie is an experienced civil litigator who focuses on insurance litigation, commercial litigation, construction litigation, property disputes and estate litigation. She was called to the BC Bar in 1996. From 1996-2023, Julie practiced civil litigation in firms in Vancouver, the TriCities and most recently with Orstad Law in Langley. Julie was excited to join RDM in 2023 as part of its merger with Orstad Law and to continue practicing primarily out of our Langley office. Morgan is a member of our civil litigation team, focusing on employment law, estate litigation, tenancy disputes and debt collection. Morgan grew up in Langley and then obtained a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from the University of Victoria. She obtained her law degree at Thompson Rivers University, graduating in 2022. During her undergraduate degree, Morgan worked as a research assistant for the Political Science department and as an Infrastructure Asset Technician for the Township of Langley. During her time at law school, Morgan volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada, and later TRU Community Legal Clinic to provide free legal services to those who are unable to afford legal assistance. Morgan began as a summer student at RDM in 2021. She returned to complete her articles and has remained at the firm since her call to the bar in May 2023.

Ravi became a partner with RDM Lawyers in 2015. Prior to being called to the Bar of British Columbia in 2006, Ravi completed his BComm with honours at UNBC before earning his law degrees from the University of Windsor and the University of Detroit Mercy joint LL.B/JD program. Ravi's practice focuses primarily on real estate law, business law and commercial lending. Ravi leads the real estate department and overseas legal work relating to real estate development, subdivisions, covenants, easements, bare land strata developments, leasing and real estate conveyancing. Ravi's business law practice includes assisting entrepreneurs in the purchases and sales of businesses and professional practices; setting up corporations, joint ventures and other legal structures, shareholder agreements and related matters. Ravi acts as outside counsel for several chartered banks and credit unions as well as private lenders in drafting facility letters and related security as well as advising borrowers. Roger Greenwood

Roger joined RDM in 1980, focusing primarily on business law beginning and gained extensive experience in corporate, commercial and commercial lending transactions. He acted mainly on behalf of business and institutional lenders. Born in England, Roger moved to Montreal when he was 11 then to BC when he was 16, where he's lived since. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1974, his Teachers' Certificate in 1976 and his Bachelor of Laws in 1979 - all from the University of British Columbia. Roger was a partner at RDM from 1986 to 2014, and then remained with the firm until his retirement from law in 2017. Always the life of the party, we are delighted that Roger still drops in on firm events if he's not off travelling the world.

Sareena takes a compassionate approach to her practice and prioritizes building rapport with her clients. She returned home to practice law and hasn't looked back since being called to the BC Bar in 1997. From 1996-2020, Sharene went from articling student to associate lawyer to partner at a mid-sized full service firm in Coquitlam. Alongside her team, in 2020 she started Orstad Law, a boutique litigation firm located in Langley where she has spent most of her adult life and raised her two children.

Following completion of her undergraduate degree, she worked for several years in accounting and then returned to school to study law. Tabitha graduated with her Juris Doctor from the University of British Columbia in 2017. After years of advocacy work in Ontario, Tabitha returned home to the Fraser Valley and joined RDM. Wesley received his Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations at the University of British Columbia followed by his Juris Doctor from the Peter A. Allard School of Law at UBC in 2017. After articling with a prominent criminal defence lawyer and Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, he was called to the British Columbia Bar in 2018. Prior to joining RDM Lawyers, Wesley practiced at a civil litigation firm in Vancouver defending insurance claims and at a leading plaintiff personal injury boutique. Wesley also served as an in-house legal counsel for an association that represents labour relations and human resource interests of publicly funded health employers. Wesley grew up in Vancouver and enjoys spending his free time with his wife and three children.
