Adam Thumath

Adam is responsible for Rabobank New Zealand's corporate client relationships and lending exposures, which extend across post-farm gate; animal protein, consumer foods and beverages, dairy, farm inputs, forestry, horticulture, seafood, viticulture and supporting sub-sectors.

Andrew Allan

Job Titles:

Andrew joined Rabobank in 2006 after previously working in the sheep and beef and horticulture sectors. Based in his home town of Gisborne, Andrew and his team help clients in the East Coast area, achieve their farming goals and enjoy supporting their local rural community. Outside of work, Andrew and wife Georgina, with sons Harry and George and daughter Meg, can be found as a family enjoying the east Coast beaches, lakes and golf courses.

Andy MacLeod

Andy joined Rabobank in December 2018 as Head of Finance before being appointed Chief Financial Officer in May 2019. He has significant financial and agribusiness experience and has held a number of leadership roles both in New Zealand and overseas. As an advocate for the primary sector, Andy's role on the leadership team allows him to have influence across the entire business and ensure the Bank remains focused on the growth and success of its clients. He is a strategic thinker with the ability to forecast regional outcomes from global economic impact assessments.

Anne Brennan

Ms Brennan joined the Board on 28 November 2011. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University College Galway and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Ms Brennan also serves as a non-executive director on the Boards Australian listed companies - Endeavour Group, The GPT Group and The Lottery Corporation. She is also a non-executive director of the Board of NSW Treasury Corporation (TCorp) and O'Connell Street Associates Pty Limited. Her former executive roles included Chief Financial Officer of CSR and Finance Director of the Coates Group. Previously, in a 25 year career in professional services, she was a partner in three leading firms - KPMG, Arthur Andersen and Ernst & Young. Ms Brennan is a member and the Chair of the Board Audit Committee, and a member of the Board Risk and Compliance Committee and Board People and Remuneration Committee.

Bernardus (Berry) Marttin

Mr Marttin joined the Board on 26 November 2010. He has a Master's degree in Business Administration from the University of Western Ontario. Mr Marttin joined the Managing Board of Rabobank in July 2009. His main areas of focus are Rabobank's Wholesale and Rural banking activities, Leasing (De Lage Landen), Global F&A, Rabo Research and Rabo Carbon Bank. Mr Marttin's Rabobank related directorships include Rabobank Australia Limited, Rabobank International Holding B.V. and the Rabobank North America Board, and the Shareholders Council of Rabo Partnerships. Outside Rabobank, Mr Marttin serves as President of the EACB (European Association of Co-operative Banks) and as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Hans R. Neumann Stiftung. Mr Marttin is also First Chair of the Global Steering Committee of the Food Action Alliance. Mr Marttin is a member of the Board Audit Committee, the Board Risk and Compliance Committee and the Board People and Remuneration Committee.

Brent Goldsack

Mr Goldsack joined the Board on 1 April 2020. He graduated from Victoria University with a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration, he is a Chartered Accountant and a Fellow of the Chartered Accountants Australia, New Zealand. Mr Goldsack retired as a Managing Partner from PwC in 2017, 12 years of which he was a partner after working in New Zealand, Moscow and London. He also previously worked in Private Equity in London and New York. Mr Goldsack is currently on the Board of Fonterra Co-operative Group and Power Farming Group, is the Chair of Waitomo Group and Better Eggs. He is a Trustee (and past Chair) of the Michael Hill International Violin Competition. Mr Goldsack and his wife are dairy farmers in the Waikato. Mr Goldsack is a member and the Chair of the Board Risk and Compliance Committee and a member of the Board Audit Committee and Board People and Remuneration Committee.

Brian Henderson

Brian grew up on the family sheep and beef farm near Marton. He graduated from Lincoln University with an Agriculture Degree and joined the Rabobank Manawatu/Wairarapa team in 2021. He enjoys supporting rural communities and helping farmers to grow their business.

Bruce Weir

Bruce is General Manager of Country Banking. He leads a team of 280 banking specialists around the country, who are passionate about the food and agri sector. Bruce grew up on a sheep and beef farm in Wairoa, Northern Hawkes Bay. His banking career began in 2000 when he joined Rabobank as a Finance Officer and transitioned through various customer-focused and leadership roles before his appointment as General Manager Country Banking in 2019. Bruce holds a Diploma in Agriculture and a Bachelor of Applied Science from Massey University. He has outside interests in both dairy farming and horticulture, which adds to his wealth of experience working in and alongside rural communities.

Chris Black - Chairman

Mr Black joined the Board on 21 November 2022 and was appointed as Chair on 23 November 2022. He holds a Bachelor of Surveying from Otago University, a Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting from Victoria University, and is a Chartered Accountant. Mr Black has considerable governance and executive experience, with a strong background in rural insurance, banking and investment management, including senior positions at UBS in the United Kingdom and, on returning to New Zealand, at Bank of New Zealand and its parent company National Bank of Australia. Mr Black was previously Chief Executive of rural insurance group Farmers Mutual Group for 13 years. Mr Black recently joined the Board of the two core entities at Southern Cross and was appointed Chair of Toka Tū Ake | Earthquake Commission and a trustee of the Mental Health Foundation. He was previously president of the Insurance Council of New Zealand and on the Board of the Insurance & Financial Services Ombudsman Scheme. Mr Black is a member and the Chair of the Board People and Remuneration Committee, and a member of the Board Audit Committee and Board Risk and Compliance Committee.

Craig Howie

Craig joined Rabobank in November 2018 in this newly created role to increase Rabobank New Zealand's local capabilities with respect to government and stakeholder relations, internal communications, and media relations. Craig's background and experience is broad. He spent the first part of his career as a financial journalist and business editor and has considerable experience in both corporate and government communications. From 2008, Craig worked in various New Zealand government roles including Senior Press Secretary to the Deputy Prime Minister, Deputy Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister, then Chief of Staff to the Leader of the Opposition. His background includes issues management, government and financial communications, along with a strong track record in media management and team leadership.

Emma Higgins

Emma leads RaboResearch Food & Agribusiness's efforts to support New Zealand's rural and corporate businesses with impactful research and engagement across cross-sectoral issues, with a particular focus on the dairy sector. Hailing from a sheep and beef farm near Nelson, Emma is a passionate ‘agvocate' who is widely regarded as a leading voice in local and global dairy markets. Prior to joining Rabobank in 2014, Emma worked at KPMG as a Tax Consultant. A strong communicator and authentic leader, Emma holds a Bachelor of Laws degree and is an enrolled barrister and solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand.

Genevieve Steven

Prior to joining Rabobank, Genevieve worked at KPMG as a Farm Enterprise Consultant and supported the KPMG Agri Food team. Before that, she worked as an Agribusiness Developer for ANZCO. Genevieve graduated from Lincoln University with a Bachelor of Agricultural Science degree, First Class Honours.

Hamish McKegg

Hamish joined Rabobank in July 2012 and became General Manager of Products and Deposits in October 2021. Hamish is responsible for leading Rabobank's Online Savings channel, product management and development, marketing and customer resolutions. Hamish's career before working at Rabobank was primarily in the financial services industry. Hamish holds a Commerce Degree (Marketing) from the University of Otago and a Graduate Diploma (Accounting) from the University of Auckland. He also holds an ACA designation from the Chartered Accountants Institute of New Zealand.

Jacqueline Manson

Jacq grew up on a sheep and beef farm in West Otago. She graduated from Lincoln in 2004 with an Ag degree and first joined Rabobank in 2005. She has since been involved in primary industry across NZ, Australia and the UK before settling back in Otago amongst an experienced team of Agribusiness Managers supporting farmers and rural communities to build strong, enduring businesses.

Laurence Richmond

Laurence grew up on his family's farm in the King Country. After leaving school to milk cows and travel overseas, he returned home to complete a degree in Finance at Waikato University. Laurence joined Rabobank at the end of 2020 and really loves working with his staff and customers to reach their goals. He likes getting outdoors with his young family in his spare time and especially enjoys time on the farm.

Lisa Stanbra

Lisa joined Rabobank in 2018 as Area Business Manager for the Waikato / Bay of Plenty agribusiness team. Before joining Rabobank she worked for 20 years at an agricultural research institute in various roles including project/change manager and team leader of a multi-disciplinary team. Lisa holds a Master of Science from the University of Auckland and has spent time living on a farm while her husband worked as a dairy farmer. Lisa is currently acting Regional Manager for the Upper North Island team.

Lloyd Setter

Lloyd joined Rabobank in May 2013. He was Head of Continuous Improvement for Rabobank Australia and New Zealand, based in Sydney, before relocating to Wellington in March 2020 to lead the New Zealand Operations team. Lloyd has a proven track record in delivering operational efficiencies and the creation of a continuous improvement culture, while also increasing employee engagement across numerous Rabobank departments. Lloyd holds a Bachelor of Agricultural Economics (Honours) from Sydney University. Before playing a key role in the creation of the Continuous Improvement Team, Lloyd was an Animal Proteins and Agricultural Analyst in the Rabobank Research Team.

Marc Brakenrig

Marc grew up in the heart of the Waikato before moving South to study agricultural science and farm management at Lincoln University. Marc entered the rural banking industry in the South Island and his banking career has seen him work with customers across a number of industries and geographies. Marc joined the Rabobank team in 2021 when the opportunity presented itself to relocate back closer to home. Marc has a real passion for the agriculture industry with a particular interest in the governance of farming businesses and the role of rural professionals in helping create value.

Micheal Dunn

Growing up in North Canterbury, Mike began his banking career in 2002 with Rabobank in Invercargill. He has been in various roles at Rabobank and is now the South Island Regional Manager leading a team of 80 staff across 10 offices in the South island. Mike feels privileged to be able to support his team and their customers achieve their goals and aspirations. He feels proud to live in a country where the primary industry sector and innovation is supported leading to positive outcomes for our communities. In his spare time he likes getting outdoors to fish, run, row or mountain bike.

Mr Geerten Battjes

Mr Geerten Battjes joined the Board on 28 May 2015. He holds an honours degree in Econometrics from the State University of Groningen in the Netherlands. Mr Battjes joined Rabobank in 2009 and was responsible for the risk management function within Rabobank's international operations. Currently he is Rabobank's Head Enterprise Risk and Chief Credit Officer. Mr Battjes is the Senior Officer Outside Australia for Rabobank Australia Branch and a director of Rabobank Australia Limited.

Ms Lara Yocarini

Ms Yocarini is an experienced executive who has worked across Europe, the United States and Africa, in finance, management consulting and not-for-profit organisations. She joined Rabobank's Wholesale and Rural business in early 2020 and has been instrumental in driving delivery of its global strategic transformation agenda. Since October 2021, she has headed up Rabobank's rural business internationally and looks after a portfolio of activities supporting Rabobank's strategy and positioning as a leading Food & Agri bank. Ms Yocarini is a Member of the Shareholders Council of Rabo Partnerships and also a director of Rabobank Australia Limited and Conservis LLC. Previously, Ms Yocarini was a Managing Director with Natixis CIB and an Associate Partner with McKinsey & Company in Paris. Earlier in her career, she worked for the United Nations Development Program in New York. Ms Yocarini is a member of the Board People and Remuneration Committee and Board Risk and Compliance Committee.

Nick Martin

Since attending Lincoln University and four years of professional rugby in Europe, Nick has worked in the agriculture sector in Canterbury for 20 years - more than 16 of those years has been in rural banking. Working with the most experienced team in the Canterbury-Tasman area, he looks forward to supporting clients by sharing their combined wealth of on-farm agribusiness knowledge. Nick and his family live on a lifestyle block in North Canterbury. Outside of work he keeps his hand in coaching rugby and can be found exploring the back country on a mountain bike or with a rifle.

Nicki McConnell

Growing up on a farm in the Waikato, Nicki attended Massey University completing a Bachelor Applied Science in Rural Valuation and Agriculture. She has spent the past twenty years in various banking roles (predominantly in Agriculture) and locations including SE Queensland, Australia. Nicki joined Rabobank 8 years ago and currently leads a team of Agribusiness Managers in Mid & South Canterbury. Nicki feels privileged to be a part of this outstanding team who operate in a diverse region supporting an array of farming sectors and excellent businesses. She resides in South Canterbury with her family.

Richard Lorraway

Richard joined Rabobank in December 2020 as the Chief Risk Officer to lead the Risk Management function of the Bank. Richard grew up in New Zealand and is an experienced risk executive with more than 30 years of banking and risk management experience gained through a number of international banks in both New Zealand and Australia, as well as working in Singapore. Richard holds a Masters of Business Administration, is a graduate of the Advanced Management Program, INSEAD International Business School, Fontainebleau in France, and is a Fellow of FINSIA.

Rose Ford

Rose joined Rabobank in October 2018. She has extensive executive leadership experience across a range of HR disciplines including change management, culture and organisational development, leadership development, talent management, employee relations, remuneration, talent acquisition, and strategic HR. Rose's experience also extends to health and safety, quality, change and communications. She has experience leading high performing teams in a global context and working across infrastructure and engineering, tourism marketing, financial services and insurance, higher education, ICT, food manufacturing and health sectors. Her recent roles include General Manager People for Opus International Consultants, General Manager People at Tourism NZ, and Head of People for AXA New Zealand.

Shay Moon

Todd Charteris

Todd has headed Rabobank, New Zealand's only specialist food and agri bank, since January 2018. He leads a team of more than 500 banking professionals, backed by a global research team of 75 experts, supporting food and agri producers through a network of 27 offices and offering online retail savings and deposit services. Todd served more than 15 years in regional roles in New Zealand and as a former National Manager of Country Banking in Australia. He brings a wide knowledge of diverse farming systems, the realities facing producers and the importance of sustainability for the sector as it responds to a changing environment. Todd grew up on a sheep and beef farm in Otago. He joined Rabobank in 2000, following his Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) studies at University of Otago and early career experience as a livestock agent, and in investment banking in London.
