In 2003, the Ranchland Trust of Kansas (RTK) was founded by the Kansas Livestock Association with the express intent of assisting landowners who choose to ensure grazing lands remain productive and available to future generations. Every day approximately 6,000 acres of grasslands are lost nationally. Urbanization, commercial development and tree invasion continue to threaten grasslands.
