Andrew Keyes

Mr. Keyes is an associate at Rome LLP. His areas of expertise include commercial litigation, intellectual property law, and entertainment law. Mr. Keyes has represented a variety of clients in the entertainment and media industries, including film producers, financiers, record labels, recording artists, news publishers, and public figures. Mr. Keyes also has extensive experience in intellectual property practice, having represented iconic brands in trademark prosecution and enforcement. Representative matters include obtaining dismissal of a defamation case against a news publisher through an anti-SLAPP motion; defending a legacy recording artist at mediation, resulting in the plaintiffs settling for one tenth of their original demand; representing a business seller in a seven-figure asset purchase deal; and providing sample clearance services for a Billboard-charting single. Prior to his legal career, Mr. Keyes worked in the recording and music publishing industries, where he represented platinum-selling artists and Grammy nominees. Mr. Keyes is admitted to practice law in the State of California, and in the Central District of California. Founder and principal of Rome LLP, A.P.C., Eugene Rome is an accomplished litigator and transactional attorney representing clients in both the United States and abroad in the areas of intellectual property law, payment processing matters, and domain name disputes. He also possesses a wealth of experience in entertainment, business, and catastrophic injury matters. Mr. Rome actively represents clients in matters involving Internet disputes as well as financial and electronic payment processing. An expert in payment processing disputes, Mr. Rome has an in-depth understanding of the Association Rules and industry practices, has routinely established jurisdiction in U.S. courts over foreign processing entities, and secured tens of millions in settlements and judgments for his payment processing clients. Mr. Rome has also litigated cutting-edge domain name and cryptocurrency matters, many involving issues of first impression. Mr. Rome is routinely requested to present on payment processing issues and developments as well as domain name disputes at industry events and conferences.
