RUTLAND REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY

The Rutland Redevelopment Authority (RRA) was formed in 1989 and serves as Rutland City's economic development entity. It was established to reduce the property tax burden, redevelop dilapidated and blighted structures, revitalize the commercial and industrial sectors of the economy, and promote economic opportunity... The RRA was established to reduce the property tax burden on residential homeowners, redevelop dilapidated and blighted structures, revitalize the commercial and industrial sectors of the economy, and promote economic opportunity for all citizens... Through a five-year contract with the City of Rutland, RRA duties include grant writing and administration; housing, economic and community development; Downtown and Neighborhood Development Area Designations; and land use planning. The RRA works closely with the Downtown Rutland Partnership, which is funded through the Special Benefits District assessment.
